I voted for Obama today.
It's the first day of early voting here, and I hightailed my disgusted butt in there and just got it over with.

Can't even tell you how horribly discouraging this primary season has been... words can't describe. How sad is it that in an election year when we should be reveling in the opportunities we have, we're instead tearing each other to shreds... and to add insult to injury, using corporate media talking points and freeper BS to do so?

*sigh*

I'm glad that's over with. I'd still like to find an Obama sticker to put on my car. Best of luck to those of you who are still undecided...

1. Well, thanks for doing that, even if you weren't enthusiastic. I believe you did the right thing.

14. Did you get the signed slip (or whatever it is) stamped Democratic so
you can vote in the Caucus?

I'm sure you know a lot more about it then I do. :)

17. Uh oh!
I thought (was told) I only needed my registration form stamped, which it was... I'll be making some calls, though, just to make sure.

22. That may be what it is you need to get done. I'm not sure. I just know you have to get something
from when you vote so you can attend the caucus.

3. That's an amazing turnaround.
I'm glad to hear it. I hope there's still something positive for you out there.

7. I've been leaning further and further toward Obama
over the past few weeks.

It wasn't easy. I saw John's name on there, and for a moment, I hesitated... :(

9. So your heart cast a different ballot.
That's cool. We've all made that double-vote before. The technical vs. desired vote.

Anyhow, thanks for your support. I have faith that, in time, Obama will convince you that you made the right choice.

12. If it wasn't so close down here...
or if I didn't belive Obama had the better shot in the GE, I would have still voted for John.

But it's neck and neck... and I do think he'll be the stronger candidate.

16. I understand. I did vote for Edwards.
But I live in IL and it was Obama in a landslide, both in my district and the state. If it was close, I would have voted Obama.

11. It's damn near neck and neck down here.
It's awful. Friends, family... it's not anywhere ugly as it is on here, not by a longshot... but I perceive that it's just under the surface. I had a friend in NY who I thought was politically aware send me one of those anti-Hillary e-mails. A frickin chain e-mail! *sigh*

8. I know you put a hell of a lot of thought into this...
Good for you. I can't stand him, but I'm glad you finally made a decision, albeit reluctantly. I hope the torment is over for you now.

I'm sure that was a difficult vote, as I recall some lobbying for Edwards votes after he withdrew.

18. I will vote for Kucinich or Edwards
Edited on Tue Feb-19-08 01:41 PM by lastliberalintexas
I am glad for people who believe there is any difference between Clinton and Obama, but I just don't see it. They are both ok candidates, will both fare about the same in the GE, and both are probably good and decent people- but they are not people I want to vote for in the primary.

I am at the point where I just wish the primary was over, regardless of who wins. :)
