Our time has come. Our time has come - Jesse Jackson Our time has come. Our time has come - Obama
Jessie Jackson: Our time has come. Our time has come. Suffering breeds character. Character breeds faith. In the end, faith will not disappoint. Our time has come. Our faith, hope, and dreams will prevail. Our time has come. Weeping has endured for nights, but now joy cometh in the morning. Our time has come. No grave can hold our body down. Our time has come. No lie can live forever. Our time has come. We must leave racial battle ground and come to economic common ground and moral higher ground. America, our time has come. We come from disgrace to amazing grace. Our time has come. Give me your tired, give me your poor, your huddled masses who yearn to breathe free and come November, there will be a change because our time has come.

MR. OBAMA: You know I love you back. (Laughter, cheers, applause.) But there is one thing on this February night that we do not need the final results to know. Our time has come. (Cheers, applause.) Our time has come. Our movement is real. (Cheers, applause.) And change is coming to America. (Cheers, applause.)

Only a few hundred miles from here, almost one year ago to the day, as Dick said, we stood on the steps of the old state capitol to reaffirm a truth that was spoken there so many generations ago, that a house divided cannot stand -- (cheers) -- that we are more than a collection of red states and blue states. We are and always will be the United States of America. (Cheers, applause.)

1. How does one say "Our time has come"
using different words?

If I say "I don't like the Clinton's tactics" and a week later someone else says the same, is that person stealing my words.

This is ridiculous.

5. This is in response the Hillary stealing Take back America from Pat Buchanan
There is a difference.

But when one lifts an entire concept and an entire pargraph on someones speech, that is different.

People use slogans all the time. I don't have a problem with that. I do have a problem if someone is actually stealing an idea and words as their own as a concept they came up with themselves.

16. hmmm... this is so childish I can't believe you
keep falling for it.

Please put your effort into telling people why Hillary is the best choice for America.

Your post is nothing but a REPEAT of many similar, and equally lame attempts to drag everyone down.

:hi:
peace~

13. Our period in History has arrived on the calendar
Doesn't quite have the same ring to it though, does it?

Hillary's campaign should immediately issue a list "Approved Words That Have Never been Used in Combination Before"

Because he's racing and pacing and plotting the course,
He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse.
He's going the distance.

Yeah!

No trophy, no flowers, no flash bulbs, no wine.
He's haunted by something he cannot define.
Bowel shaking earthquakes of doubt and remorse,
Assail him, impale him with monster truck force.
In his mind he's still driving, still making the grade.
She's hoping time that her memories will fade,
Cause he's racing and pacing and plotting the course,
He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse.

... Yeah, going the distance? ... Attribution by the band "Cake" ;)

on edit: HRC supporters who can't let go of this inane topic, "I doN'T feel your pain."

9. Um...I hate to break this to you, but the phrase "Our time has come"
has been around forever. Jackson didn't coin it.

Unless your point is to highlight the fact that both of these people are ... *gasp* ... African American!!! :o

17. Something I've learned about creativity.
There's no such thing as creating in a vacuum.

You're always inspired by things you've seen - other people's artwork, other people's writing, other people's speeches.

You add a little of your own creativity, but really, much of creating is "stealing" and "filing off the serial numbers."

Mix it up a little, so it isn't blatant plagiarism, make sure you add your own twists.

I see this all the time in movies and TV shows - Leia strangling Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi was an homage to the death of Luca Brasi in the Godfather.

But if you think that you or I or Obama or anyone else can write speeches completely out of whole cloth, you're mistaken.
