The Hate Machine is imploding
Rove and his fellow reptiles are working overtime (7 months before the election) trying to paint a negative picture of Senator Kerry. They are running scared. They are lying incessantly. The hate machine has the radio squallers planting the seed that we may have to postpone the election (because democracy worked in Spain). They can't run on their record. They are desperate. The drone story does not fly, sorry karl. There is still a felon running loose in the WH 8 months after the crime was committed. The honorable mr bush said he wanted his staff to cooperate. If he was a leader, this story would have been over a long time ago. He has to testify before 9/11. And on and on and on. LETS ALL BE OPTIMISTIC. The rove machine is going to make us very happy in November.

One final question for conservatives - When are we going to start fighting terrorism?

1. Are you sure?
They seem to be doing quite well from what I can see.

The only question is will Kerry fight back? He must.

3. They do seem to have Kerry on the defensive now
But the fact that they're using their big ammunition now could indicate some desperation. What will they do in the fall? It's clear the WH can't run on its record.

13. are we sure 'this' is the big ammunition?
imo ... this is softball season ...

they're feeling for soft spots, and stickiness factors

if they're using the big ammunition now, and nothing works ... they're surely not going to throw up their hands and let nature take its course

indeed: What will they do in the fall?

Rove is running on perception and images, and knowing they can rig BBV. Imagine multi-state discrepancies to the point of not knowing who got what votes? What do we do then?

Why hasn't Sandra Day O'Conner resigned? It was being circulated ... they got their puppet selected ... she should have moved on ... unless they fear a 4 to 4 Supreme Court pending confirmation ...

4. Always tell the truth and you will never have to remember anything
Remembering things is job one at the bush white house. Lies begat lies, and soon you know not what the truth is. They have given themseleves too much time to get out of the mess they are making for themselves. I may be a knucklehead optimist but I see nothing but fool hardiness in the rove methodology this year against Senator Kerry. Also, a larger part of our populace is very well informed, the conservatives worse nightmare. Oh, they'll lock down the dupes and lemmings but they won't be enough to win the election.

9. On Their Heels
They have been forced to go negative far sooner than they would have liked. This can backfire as the public will grow tired of the hate 24/7. This is a sign that they are reeling.

Kerry surrogates should stay aggressive and keep throwing the lies and record of failures back at the Bush regime. At the same time, it is critical for Kerry himself to build a more positive forward looking tone. He needs a simple overarching theme. His "We can do better" implies that we are doing well now. I do like the use of the term "mislead" when referring to Bush Regime lies.

Kerry's only failures to date have been the tendency to get directly involved in the counter smears. That should be the work of others in the Dem party. To get this done, it is going to take an all out top to bottom effort by the whole party. Right now, President Kerry's support system leaves something to be desired. I do like the idea of the other Dem primary candidates out on the attack against the Cabal.

President Kerry should act presidential.

2. Don't forget the anti-Bush books that are coming out
* House of Bush, House of Saud by Craig Unger; already out
cover has a picture of Bush and Abdullah holding hands

* March 30: Against All Enemies, Richard Clarke; the man who gave the August 2001 intel briefing to Bush

* April: Cruel and Unusual, Mark Crispin Miller; the man who came up with the "Bush is intelligible when he talks about cruelty and punitive retribution" theory

* May: Worse Than Watergate, John Dean

And I'm surely forgetting others. Don't discount the influence of these.

6. I'd like to see
Howard Dean speak out more. I love that guy, but not as a candidate (as a spokesperson for our party).

7. And Joe Wilson has a book coming out in April/May
Valerie Plames husband. He has an unusually large hardon for bush who is responsible for putting his wife's life in danger solely for political gain. Yes, I'm optimistic.

12. I talked with Wilson briefly about his book
He was at the Kerry HQ in Madison for the WI primary and I was talking a bit with him about his upcoming book. He's going to be on all the channels and is really going to nail Bush on the incident. The guy is pissed.
