Die Hard Biden Supporters: Who have you moved towards supporting now? |
|
Edited on Tue Feb-19-08 08:18 PM by Mike03
I have gravitated from Biden to Edwards, but now I'm really torn, and I was just wondering who Biden supporters were leaning towards at this point, if anyone.
Have either Biden or Edwards thrown their support to anyone specific?
ON EDIT: I just want to really recommend Biden's book, regardless of who you might be voting for. His autobiography is fantastic, and certainly one of the best political bios I have ever read.

when I was first bold enough to begin posting on DU - I would post, and the thread would sink!
I guess I do the same to candidates.

But I cannot see either one of the remaining candidates as representing what I think is best for this country.

14. Would you consider them better than 4-8 more years of Bush policy? |
|
Either candidate would be far better for this country than that old toad McCain.

that they would be worse than a Repug, did I? I simply said that they do not represent what I think is the best for this country.

Do I think that either candidate is 100% what I want in a President? No.
Do they meet the criteria far better than McCain? Yes.
Surely there must be at least one issue on which you agree with either Clinton or Obama.

There are things that I agree with when it comes to both candidates.
The point is... If Biden had not been a candidate, I would have less of a problem with those that remain. The fact that Mr. Biden was so overwhelmingly more qualified than ANYONE on either side and that he makes the remaining two candidates on the Dem side look like bickering schoolchildren, you can imagine how some of us feel.
We are faced with what we are always faced with...choosing the lesser of two evils. We had our chance. Not just with Biden...but almost all of the lower-tier candidates. Most of them were more qualified than either of the remaining candidates...especially Biden.
I will not give up on what my heart told me was a huge mistake by the American people. They missed a golden opportunity to have a true statesman (an adult) run this country for a while. That's all I asked...was a straight talker that wouldn't BS us and had the experience and skill to turn this ship of state around. It didn't happen, and now we have a fight on our hands. Another example of the Dems possibly grasping defeat from the jaws of victory.
Sad, so sad.

that in FreeperVille, they are very thankful that the Dems passed Biden up. They knew that they would have a hell of a problem beating Biden.

6. Biden to Edwards to Obama. |
|
But I think several posters who say they support Biden are really here to bash Obama. Not you, Mike03. Just a pattern I noticed.

8. "Die Hard Biden Supporters" - Is that a rare collectible of some sort? |
|
By the way, what does your title mean?
Die! Hard Biden supporters! Die!
But what's a hard Biden as opposed to a soft one?
Or perhaps you meant, "Die Hard: Biden Supporters"
"When the Convention is taken hostage, the terrorists don't reckon with the presence of Bruce Willis as hardbit NYPD detective John McClane, the only Biden delegate left inside the arena..."

10. I went like this: Hillary to Biden to Edwards.. settled with Obama. I only |
|
left Hillary after she started the negative attacks on Obama, even tho I wasn't supporting him at the time. Strangely enough, I just can't take anymore of the crap of the last 7 years. So its been a long journey, but I'm very happy where I've landed. As an antecdotal aside, I met my daughter's new boyfriend tonight.. a die-hard dem who was a huge fan of the Clintons for years. He also started out with Hillary and was also very put off by the initial negative campaigning that started with the drug dealer attacks. He is now supporting Obama and we had a lovely Obamathon tonight !

I will support the nominee in November whomever that may be. I will send money in support when it is decided.
I can't choose between these two. I do find the race fascinating and hope the party can come together. Not making a choice between these two....(unless you have to for a primary)...I feel gives me a different perspective than most of the rest on this board. I do not have to justify my choice. I can see the weakness and strengths of both.
Oh yeah....I am a die hard Biden supporter.
