Obama and Hillary should stay in through Pennsylvania... |
|
It's best if they both stay in through April in my opinion, and then take a long look at the situation.
Democrats need to look at the GE strategically.
Having a long primary is to our strategic advantage.
IOW what the Fuck are we rushing for? So Obama folks feel good about beating Hillary?
Big fucking deal if he loses the GE!
Let them fight it out for a while!

8. I really believe the long primary is the Democrats beneift this year. |
|
I guess I'll call it a hunch, but I think we should leave McCain and the GOP in limbo for a while.

16. With Obama, the long primary is GREAT. McCain has no chance against this guy. |
|
He will wipe the floor with him.

20. But the nominee will suffer for not having time to get their stuff together. |
|
What good is that? McCain can gather his forces while the Dem won't have that opportunity.

3. No, not really. IMO having a clear front runner/nominee who can start organizing for the |
|
general election will go a long way towards securing the white house and increasing majorities in the house and senate.

4. Nope. That's a poor idea, to put it kindly. |
|
If she loses TX and OH, it's utterly pointless for her to stay in it and it's bad for the party. If she starts winning that's a different story, but it's completely ridiculous for her to stay in it if she loses even 3 out of 4 on March 4th. It will only weaken Obama, who will be the candidate in such an eventuality.

11. Right. What if she takes Ohio? What if somehow she takes TX and RI. |
|
We need to keep this going for a while.
If she's swept on March 4th that will be a different story.

19. If she wins OH, that's a call she has to make |
|
but if she wins it by only a couple of points, it really is effectively over.

5. March 4 should be the end of it |
|
If they kept going back and forth, I would accept a long primary fight. Unless Hillary does something miraculous on March 4th and wins huge victories in Ohio and Texas, she really should pack it in.

7. This would be fine if the campaigns weren't negative |
|
McCains strategy, which has been made clear, will follow all the "dirt" that Hillary has dug up. Continuing the democratic primaries will just allow Hillary's campaign to feed McCain.

9. Quite the contrary. Having a long primary is NOT to our strategic advantage. |
|
It gives McCain a longer time to prepare and gear up. The more our two candidates beat up on each other, the more the Repubs can use the same dirt Hillary digs up on Obama when he runs in the GE. ;)

10. It also provides less time to "define Obama GOP style." |
|
Let McCain prepare. The media will focus on the democratic primary the longer the better.
I think there will be a time when it will be obvious when Hillary needs to call it quits but I think the longer it takes the better.

14. You have a typo in your subject line |
|
It should read "...it also provides less time to 'define Obama Neolib style.'" ;)
Our populace needs immediate gratification. They're impatient. They are driven by media and advertisement. The media will destroy our Dem candidates if it goes on much longer -- The sooner we have a nominee, the more likely the masses will be able to be sold on our candidate get behind our candidate.

15. In the long run I don't think it will make much of a difference |
|
General Election campaigns are mostly waged in September and October. Democrats seem to have a problem understanding this fact since we always get our asses kicked in the endgame.

17. She can't mathematically win |
|
The Clinton supporters are praying for disaster because that's the only thing that can save her. That's what a lousy candidate she is. But they'd sooner destroy everything than admit Hillary has run a bad campaign with bad strategists and advisers and is the real risk in the GE.
