Let's be good winners, Obama supporters
Edited on Tue Feb-19-08 10:14 PM by maximusveritas
This was a big win and we deserve to celebrate it, but we need to remember to be good winners. I know most of us will do just that, but for any others tempted to gloat and be sore winners:

It doesn't matter if you're upset after all the recent attacks from both the Clinton and McCain camps. It doesn't matter if some Clinton supporters are being sore losers.
We need to be positive and focus on promoting our candidate instead of tearing down Hillary.

She is not going to drop out before March 4th, not with the leads she has in Texas and Ohio. Those polls do show us moving up, but we're still behind and it'll be tough to win. But all we need is to make it close enough to make sure we maintain the lead in the overall popular vote and pledged delegates.

So let's celebrate for now, but then get back to work and fight for change.

1. I intend to be a good winner, but...
I'm curious about these "huge" leads in Texas and Ohio you speak of.

13. Step in...
They're technically tied in Texas. But keep that "big lead". It keeps me motivated (I'm in PA).

2. We should be gracious winners.
One point. She doesn't have a big lead in Texas. He closed the gap.

4. What you seek would require a modicum of class from those of whom you seek it.
Not likely.

Nope. I'm happy, if the current results hold true. :)

6. The vast majority of Obama supporters on DU will be gracious winners.
But I'm sure a handfull will want to rub it in. Just ignore them.

10. I agree, but I also think it's a good idea for that majority to speak up
and make sure people know that this handful doesn't speak for us and we don't approve of their rubbing it in.

7. Why Start Now?
A agree with your sentiment and thank you for it, but have you seen the hundred or so anti-Hillary threads.
The Obama supporters had better start playing nice.

8. Sorry...
I don't think that Obama supporters are capable of being gracious winners....not from what I read here at the DU.

12. I could say the same thing from many Clinton supporters over here.
Goes both ways.

14. Indeed
And btw, no one here on this board *won* anything. We may support someone that won, or support someone that lost. Feel free to celebrate what you see as another step towards taking back the White House, but those here that see these primaries as personal victories (or defeats) are a wee bit too obsessed for my taste.
