Just finished watching Obama's speech in Texas! |
|
Edited on Tue Feb-19-08 10:37 PM by Tim4319
He used no note! He used no teleprompter. He spoke specifically about issues. How can the right-wing constantly ask where does he stand on the issues. He spoke on it for over 45 minutes! Also, if they would like to know where Obama stand on issues, all they have to do is go to his website! His views are there for people to read, in black and white!
Please give Barak his respect!!!!!!!!

3. I'm glad he did this. This will shut up the jerks who had the nerve |
|
to question his intelligence. It's sad that he has to work 10 times harder just to prove himself, but oh well.

As a black person it pretty much fact that we have to work twice as hard, just to get half of the credit!

His speech amazed me! For the past 7 and 2 months, we had to get used to a president that fumbled, bumbled and stumbled over his words that were rehearsed, and setup for him on a teleprompter and notes. And still, he did not get a good message out. To sit here and watch him, pretty much, look around the arena, and not once look down, and address his strategies, really impressed me!
Then to see the only negative thing these "political experts" can say is, his speech was too long. I believe that is a good thing!

My God, it was like watching one of the great orators of yesteryear. True, he could have wound it up a little quicker -- not the longest attention span (look a kitty!) -- but no notes, except for a couple of names, no parsing of phrases, just clear, from the heart and from the head. Brilliant guy, no two ways about it. Love how he started with the nuts and bolts of the Texas system and just kept swinging for the fences thereafter.

16. You just said what I was trying to say. |

To me, his speech seemed more heart-felt! Having notes, to me, seem to be less from the heart, and more for applause.

And I will agree with you, he did come out with specifics, and that was good. I loved the speach, I really did. He hit on the issues I am concerned about, and the reason I supported Edwards, and that was great. He talked about the poor, taking taxbreaks away from companies that outsource, taking on special interest groups, energy independance, etc., and I loved how he got the crowd into things by talking about change coming from the bottom up, not the top down. All of the things I loved about Edwards!
I was very impressed tonight, and I am starting to believe he will really do what he says he will.
