I don't think pasty old white man Buchanan understands anything
about the black experience in this country, if he is stomping all over Michele Obama for what she said.

This is the FIRST TIME we have had a black person as a serious contender running for the office of POTUS, but he just doesn't understand what she meant, and thinks she was stomping all over the country.

I think Rachel was right: I, too, could just hear the RW commercials coming out of his mouth.

SHUT UP, PAT!

2. agreed
she grew up poor, in a disaffected community full of people who had been cast aside by society.

she made it to the top. harvard. good job.

she speaks for a different set of people, with different experiences. and honestly who the f cares if you're proud. it's not 2001 anymore and we're not going to chase those dixie chicks out of the country for criticizing the president. these charges won't stick.

4. She does speak for a different set of people.
And not only black people, but many people who didn't have rich pasty old white men for fathers.

6. The racists are really coming out of the woodwork.
Just as the sexists are, where Hilary is concerned.

I find both groups disgusting.

But I know they will be around.

7. I'm not sure where Uncle Pat stands were McCain is concerned.
I kind of had the feeling that McCain wasn't his fav, but I could be wrong. (I don't pay a whole lot of attention to him. :) )

16. I wonder if MSNBC would fire his ass if he actually said it.
Not that I want him to; it's a disgusting word.

He does "say" it in other ways, though, that's for sure.

20. Right now, there is a guy in the MSNBC control room ...
with his finger on the "panic button" and he's stressed out, waiting for that moment when he'll have to "bleep" the word!

21. Do you know if they have anything like the delay that radio shows do?
That would be the only way he could hit the button in time.

22. I believe broadcast networks do, but I don't know about cable. However ...

if I were MSNBC, I'd certainly have one when Buchanan was around - especially now. The Dems have an African-American candidate with an outspoken wife and an outspoken female candidate who is married to the man the GOP despises more than anyone on the planet.

That's a recipe for an ultra-conservative, racist/sexist meltdown if I ever saw one! It's the perfect storm.

12. This country is so fucked up when it comes to race and gender.
Not everyone, of course, but there are enough people who ARE fucked up about it.
