the one most STRIKING FACT from tonight.
It was not the 17% win by Obama over Hillary, even while her supporters did their damnedest to prove that she would win, tie, or stay close.

No, with 96% of the vote in, ONE MILLION VOTERS WENT D, compared to 350,000 GOPers.

That says it all. Well, ok, Obama kicked some huge ass today, too, just as an aside.

1. Well, that, and the 17% M.O.V.
Nobody saw that coming. ;)

The hits just keep on coming for the Hillary camp.

4. What you must see in these numbers is the number of Republican
crossovers and Independents who simply voted against Hillary. WI is an open primary which means that Democrats may not really choose their own nominee. Russert pointed out that fully 1/3 of the people who voted in the Dem primary were either Independents or Republican cross overs. As you may well know, some of the RW radio talk shows have been telling their listeners to go to the polls, regisster and vote for Obama since they already know McCain is their nominee. A large percent of these people will not be voting for Obama in the GE.

5. The number of Indies was far greater than the number of
repub crossovers. And many of them will likely vote for the dem. You're just wrong.

8. Hillary got right at 1/3 of the Republican and 1/3 of the Independent crossover votes.
Why did they vote for her if they were only crossing over to vote Obama and skew the primary results? Or is it that only the 2/3 who voted for Obama were doing that and the 1/3 who voted for Hillary were actually voting for her?

We can't have it both ways. At some point we have to admit that a certain percentage of the crossover might just be genuine issues voters who are tired of the direction the country is going.

10. what must we see in these numbers?
From Rasmussen reports:

National polling for the seven days ending February 17 shows that Barack Obama is viewed favorably by 55% of American voters. John McCain is viewed favorably by 51% and Hillary Clinton by 45%.

...

Among independent voters not affiliated with either major political party, Obama is viewed favorably by 61%, McCain by 55%, and Clinton by 39%.

7. More D voters in WA beauty contest than in actual R primary.

We need to keep this ball rolling. It's a bona fide revival for Dems.
