Tweety is just not right. The man is not well.
While I agree that Senator Kirk Watson should have been better prepared--the crickets chirping was pure torture--Tweety was just down right rude. He looked like a man who just snapped. Good grief, what was that all about:shrug:

I loved Keith's line, it's not Hardball, but the election returns...

It's time for Tweety to retire and find himself a big ol' rocking chair overlooking a pretty lake somewhere. The man couldn't even say his words right. I'm sure his notes were soaking wet from all the spit he spewed on them. Yes, I truly believe it's time for Tweety to say goodnight. When his own staff is laughing at his inability to answer one of the very questions he asked...pffft...

Tweety is lucky to have Keith sitting there to slap him into reality now and then.

3. It was painful
Tweety seemed to be off his meds tonight. WTH?

Kirk may not ever want to go on live national television again.

8. I feel really bad for Mr. Watson.
Hopefully they will prep him intensively and send him out again on national TV to redeem himself. He's a state senator and obviously not a stupid guy. Just was taken a bit off guard.

9. ..."taken a bit off guard"!!?! He was struck dumb!!! He's on national
teevee, promoting/endorsing a candidate for POTUS and was "taken a bit off guard" when basically asked what the candidate had ever done to earn his support!!!! He had no fuckung answer - nada - absolutely nothing. It was very disturbing alright, but not because of Tweety's question. But because a State Senator is throwing his support behind a presidential candidate, about whom, he knows absolutely nothing!

10. I agree.
It was terrible. The sad thing is most posters here could've done a better job. He might've known them but not been able to articulate them off the cuff. I don't know. I just feel bad for the guy on a human level.

13. Wow, just wow! I like it when Tweety goes off his meds.
Got to wonder what the game is though. He and his cohorts think Obama has it in the bag, they feel they have completed their work destroying Hillary's campaign, and they are now trying to build some creds for the GE.

We're fair, seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Funny that the guy couldn't scare up an answer. There will be lots of memos flying hither and thither among the Obama talking heads to be prepared for such an unfair, and may I add racist, question from here on out.

19. True, but Tweety gets "the asshole of the day" award for unequal treatment of Ms. Tubbs Jones.
Edited on Wed Feb-20-08 07:42 AM by ShortnFiery
I can't use my PMS as "an excuse" for acting like an asshole, don't let Chris Matthew's Diabetes excuse his nasty treatment of this man. My husband has Type I diabetes, meaning that his pancreas produces ZERO insulin (he's dependent on insulin injections). I'm here to tell you that other than an occasional "hypo-glycemic reaction" that is manifested by "confusion" and "disorientation" NOT *assholery,* my husband is IMO, a model gentleman.

I'm getting ultra-disgusted with people who think that Tweety's Type II diabetes gives him an excuse to behave rudely. That just don't wash with my experience of living with "a thoughtful Type I diabetic" diagnosed for over 10 years.

Face it folks, regardless of his underlying health problems, IMO it's mainly Tweety's acquired arrogance and deluded sense of self-importance that's the KEY reason that he can, on occasion, seemingly go politically POSTAL.

18. What does Obama need to improve?
The guy speaking for him was not prepared for sure. The only thing Obama needs to improve on is making sure that those that are speaking on his behalf are better educated. Other than that, it appears to me that Obama is doing just fine!

Type II diabetes and malaria. I'm not defending him, but that Obama surrogate dropped the ball, what an embarrassment.

15. Obama's campaign needs to be responsible
and get people out there who are aware of his record and can make effective arguments on his behalf. This is NOT Chris Matthews' fault: it is the campaign's fault. They NEED to make sure this never happens again.

16. Tweety is just plain rude. Yes, the Senator should have been
more prepared but I fail to see the need to crucify the man on TV. Is this just some way for "Tweets" to feel superior? He is an insufferable man.

17. He did not pin Stephanie Tubbs Jones to the wall about Hillary the same way.
She was allowed to speak in vague terms about Hillary's accomplishments. Kirk was not.

He plans on working until it's paid for, even if he has to drag this country's esprit de corps down to a state of clinical depression.

22. Matthews was a complete jerk.
What of true merit has ANYBODY accomplished legislatively during the years of Repig dictatorship in Congress or even since the changeover in 2006? Very, very little.

Why didn't Matthews ask what Hillary had accomplished legislatively?
