Three times in a row, Hillary Clinton failed to congratulate Obama on his victories
This just shows you why so many people have made the correct judgment that Hillary Clinton is not only divisive, but also a sore loser. This is not the kind of character I would want anywhere near the White House. It is nothing short of pathetic. What kind of example does this set for young women looking at her as a role model? Actually, who needs her to congratulate Obama anyway...she never admits to a mistake in the first place.

Three times may make a trend: for the third primary/caucus night in a row, Hillary Clinton has taken the stage at a post-election rally and failed to mention her losses, or congratulate her winning opponent, Barack Obama.

She spent Tuesday night at a rally in Youngstown, Ohio, looking ahead to the primary there on March 4. She made no mention of Wisconsin.

Last Tuesday in El Paso, Texas, hours after getting swept in the Potomac primaries that night, she didn’t acknowledge her rival’s big day. The Saturday before that in Richmond, Virginia, she spoke at the state’s Jefferson-Jackson Dinner and ignored Obama’s string of four primary and caucus wins that day.

After reports that focused on the second oversight, Clinton congratulated Obama at a press conference the next day.

Acknowledging your losses isn’t required in politics, though it is a courtesy that’s been practiced for decades.

Wave goodbye, Hillary. Wave goodbye.

57. Tongiht...
I don't give a fuck what you think. You guys (not all Obama supporters - just the dicks) have been beyond-the-pale, over-the-top jerks.

As I said in another thread, for the first time ever in this campaign, I found myself wondering whether or not I could actually vote for Obama in the GE.

I will, of course, but it shocked me that the behavior of the assholes here even planted the thought in my head that Obama supporters deserve to lose so they might learn a little humility.

You guys are being total pricks (again, not all Obama supporters - not even most. Just the ball-spiking junior high assholes).

And the irony is that I've always liked Obama. I never started a thread attacking him. I never gloated when he had a bad day. I even defended him many many times against what I thought were unjust attacks.

But you guys suck.

59. sorry. seriously.
I am not a sucker. I am more of a spitter.

I have serious, actual factual, personal disagreements with Ms. Rodham. That woman. Hillary. Say what you want. She has EARNED this, and frankly, I have to admit that I am rejoicing. Rarely, if ever, have I been so happy to see the defeat of someone I feared might buy or pressure her way into an office for which she was mentally, socially, physically, and psychologically totally incapable of handling.

but, I admit, I rejoice.

65. There's nothing wrong with rejoicing when you win!
I'd be thrilled if my candidate won. But you know what I've always done when she didn't win? I congratulated the winner and shut the fuck up.

Taunting and bullying the supporters of the losing team has always struck me as the height of assholishness - and not just this election. I've felt that way since I was a kid. I just don't understand what joy you take out of kicking people when they're down - especially when the people you're kicking are supposedly on your side. It's just pure malice; intentional cruelty. And as Truman Capote said, the only unforgivable sin is intentional cruelty.

It shows a severe personal, psychological, moral defect. Real winners just shake hands and move on.

All she had to do was say nine words:

Hell, her fans could have booed for all I care. It's called doing a common courtesy. Decent people do that.

The FREE 45 minutes of Obama nationwide on all cable news channels was sweet as well, hope you enjoyed it.

And why weren't there these posts lamenting Kerry's support for the Iraq war resolution back in 2004? I don't remember the kind of vitrol directed at him that has been aimed at Clinton. This board has been infiltrated, by what I don't know, but in ain't pretty.

Even after the Republicans are finished eviscerating Obama...it will STILL be Clinton's fault.

30. Yeah, and I thought it was hilarious when Obama knocked her off the
air right after she started her speech so he could give his. It was cool though, because KO said Obama was worried about his audience having to stand so long. Then he gave, what was that..a two hour speech? Hope nobody fainted or nothin'.

Hey Obama, I know ya gotta it, you gotta flaunt it...go Obama, you know got it, you gotta flaunt it!

He's knocking Hillary to the moon! To the moon, Hillary!

Oh, why can't some one give me a shot or something, pass me a virus, ANYTHING, to get me on this feel good stuff. I want to be on the happy side. I've always known Hillary had too much baggage. You have to admit, though, she's putting up a pretty good fight. I'm hope she makes a decision after March 4th myself. Hard to say. It's up the to the individual and I don't think it's going to hurt the party. Did you see McCain? I supposed if he picks a strapping VP there might be trouble. Obama should have no problem with McCain with the mood the country is in.

Nope, nothing is stopping Senator Barack Obama, the man three years out of the Illinois legislature. He will surround himself with great advisors and the people will be happy. So be it.

49. She doesn't know how to lose gracefully.
There's even an article that was posted at Huffington about it.

Losing 10 primaries in a row is not losing by a hair - it's getting blown out of the race.

That's 20% of the country that has spoken, and they all say they want Obama.

She should just call it a day.
This weekend she should sit down with her advisors and speech writers and write a great speech giving Obama credit for what he has done, and then end her campaign on Tuesday next week.

If this gets uglier in Texas, it could cost the Democrats a lot of votes in the fall.

If it gets much uglier in Ohio, it could cost us the entire state of Ohio in the fall.

Mathematically, she's out of the race.

That's a bitter pill to swallow, but she must face the facts.
For the good of the party.
For the good of the country.
For our future.

It was a great race, she gave it her best shot, but there's something more important than winning debates and primaries - and that's winning the race in the fall for the White House.

60. It's about appearances. She doesn't want to project the image of a loser.
Which I understand. Can you imagine the video clips and sound-bytes of her conceding state after state after state being replayed over and over?

This would discourage her supporters, dry up fundraising efforts, and cause already grumbling superdelegates to defect. So even though it isn't in keeping with past practice, I don't know that we've had a candidate that has gone on such a losing streak and still stayed in the race. In that context, it's probably wise not to congratulate Obama on his numerous victories.

Saying nine simple words...

1. I
2. want
3. to
4. congratulate
5. Barack
6. Obama
7. for
8. his
9. victory

...is just too much for a politician to do or say in a speech.

Hell, it takes about 5 seconds to say. And to not say those nine simple words for the past three losses is just plain classless. It's not about "hate". It's called a common courtesy. It's called being professional. It's called having courage to face a loss and congratulate your opponent.

It's easy for champions to do it because they can have the courage to say nine simple words and move on. It's hard for cowards, sore losers and arrogant blowhards to not say those nine simple words.

Calling the opponent is just one step in the process. Acknowledging it publically is what leaders do.

107. It is Obama using the Republican-style innuendo
As I said, Obama used the years of right wing smear campaigns -- and CAPITALIZED on those attacks.

"Senator Clinton starts off with 47 percent of the country against her," the Illinois senator told 3,000 people at a high school gym in Alexandria, Va., just outside Washington. "That's a hard place to start."

"I think it's very hard for Senator Clinton to break out of the politics of the past 15 years," Obama said.

"I don't think there's any doubt that the Republicans consider her a polarizing figure."

‘Democrats will win in November and build a majority in Congress not by nominating a candidate who will unite the other party against us"

You'll notice he is talking about negatives with REPUBLICANS. You can't use the high negatives with Dems B.S. argument. He has freely used the vicious attacks of the nineties that were based on NOTHING to his advantage.

Break out of your denial.

What if St. Barack underwent years of false allegations and smear that brought about negative perception with Republicans -- and someone (a supposed Democrat) used that against him -- now can you see?

Most of the stuff we read in the media is about as substantial as a speech that is about whatever hope you want it to be. For some it is a casino down the block, for another it is not having the traffic and ambience of that casino in one's neighborhood. One person's hope may differ from the next. Develop some critical thinking so you can understand when you are being advertised to....

116. Hillary congratulated Obama for his victories in Wisconsin and Hawaii
The former first lady congratulated Obama for his victories in Wisconsin and Hawaii on Tuesday and acknowledged he had inspired voters to dream again. But she said she was the candidate best suited to fulfill those dreams.

In portraying her rival as more rhetoric than action, Clinton displayed some eloquence of her own.

"We all carry dreams in our hearts, and we need to keep dreaming. Dreaming keeps us hopeful; it lifts our spirits; it sets our sights high," she said. "Without dreams we can't aspire to be great. But without action we cannot turn those dreams into reality."
