3. Someone posted earlier that it probably would be a few more hours (I think
because of the large turnouts?).

I'm a VERY LATE East Coaster, but even I was thinking I probably wouldn't be up at the time the reports started coming in.

12. It's going to take an indefinite amount of time. Turnout is very high.
The state party has not been prepared. People are voting on slips of paper.

25. from one of their blogs
Kawananakoa was so bad, they asked all district 26 people to go to the auditorium. Upon entering the auditorium, it was chaos! People trying to figure out where to be, how to vote, what to do. Very disorganized. I was one unhappy democrat. With an island son running for president, what where you folks thinking?

27. Yes. Perhaps a little craziness, but that's ok. People turned out in
what looks like record numbers.

Bless 'em!

17. Kauai precinct votes nearly 4-1 for Obama
Kauai precinct votes nearly 4-1 for Obama

Advertiser Staff

One precinct on Kaua'i reported the result of its caucus with Sen. Barack Obama getting 168 votes to 46 for Sen. Hillary Clinton and one for John Edwards.

The results were for District 16, Precinct 1, which voted at Koloa Library.

"This was the biggest turnout for a caucus ever," said precinct chairman Dr.

Monroe Richman, who has been a Democrat since he voted for Harry Truman.

"It's 100 more than what I predicted," Richman said of the Koloa event,

which wrapped up voting just after 7:30 p.m.

Most of the more than 200 people who turned out had never been to a caucus before.

20. You'd think the election officials would know to expect record turnout
Or maybe they purposely underestimated in the hopes of scaring away some voters. It's just odd how this keeps happening.

30. This is kind of ridiculous. Since Hawaii seems to be about 6 hours or more behind
the rest of us, they really should have run their voting early -- like from 5am to 5pm. We're supposed to be part of the same country here. They're not voting for the President of Hawaii.

They likely won't have numbers for hours and hours yet.

Precincts have 48 hours to report.
