Can any of them even run without the other one on the ticket now? |
|
Considering how close they are with votes and delegates, wouldn't it be reckless for them not to run together in the end?
I mean, if either one of them tries to throw out the other one, it would be like telling all those supporters of the other person, to hell with you. Wouldn't that be a bad basis for the GE ?

1. Absolutely not! There are many viable, attractive VP candidates... |
|
...it's pretentious, IMHO, to think otherwise.

16. He CAN'T pick her ... |
|
his WHOLE message is change ... His WHOLE campaign is based on moving on from the past ...
Taking Hill on would run completely counter to what his candidacy has been based on ... Whatever politics that might come into play with it, it just would invalidate his whole premise ...

3. It's a risk the nominee will have to take |
|
I can't imagine Obama wanting Hillary on the ticket after her performance in the primaries. I'm not talking about negative campaigning, I'm talking about her enormous negatives. She may be smart and tough but the country just doesn't like her very much.

It's called primaries for a reason.
If Barack wins, he gets to decide. Those are the rules!

6. Primaries as in primary "election". Not primary "football game". |

8. I can't see Hillary wanting the VP spot |
|
Particularly with Obama. He doesn't strike me as the type to give a VP any power at all. Back to attending state funerals.

I think if Hillary had kept the high ground she might have had a shot at the office, but who could blame Obama for not wanting her on the ticket at this point?

14. Of course.. The one who wins will be able to stand alone and should |
|
be able to choose their own running-mate.
Too many shenanigans happen during a campaign to just hug & say "join my team"..
There are wounds, and it's hypocritical to just pretend that everything's hunky-dory

15. Obama will need a STRONG VP candidate for the GE because |
|
the repubs are going to really go on the attack for no experience, his religion, etc. So, HRC won't be the VP. And the same thing for the opposite scenario -- she would need a strong VP to go against McCain, a white male republican veteran war hero, etc. Unless our nominee chooses a dream VP, we are going to have an uphill battle IMO.

17. Obama ran on Hillary-hate --- Not a chance |

Edited on Wed Feb-20-08 07:06 AM by DemGa
It's impossible -- his followers would freak out. Same in reverse; Obama's backstabbing makes the whole scenario impossible.
