Has Obama won a closed primary yet?
This is a sincere question, not an attempt at gotcha.

Have all of his wins come in open primaries or caucuses, or has he won any closed primaries?

23. Hillary won the popular vote in Nevada. Obama won 1 more delegate with his"be a democrat for a day"
Nevada is an excellent example of how Obama wants Independents and Republicans to select the Democratic Party's nominee.

29. NE is Nebraska, not Nevada (NV)
And although he did win more delegates in NV, when most people, including myself, refer to who "won" there they are talking about Clinton.

Baltimore City and PG, which are the African American strongholds, Montgomery and Howard, which have high numbers of "latte liberals," Baltimore County, which is the quintessential "swing" county, and every county that typically votes republican.

Absolutely amazing.

4. Has he won in states with more than 15-20 million people?
I can't answer your question off the top of my head, but I think in most cases the answer is no. He doesn't have a lot of clean, far-and-away victories to talk about. His followers really don't address the question of voters crossing party lines in open primaries-- Independents, Republicans and others effectively trying to scuttle the vote because conservative-leaning voters *really* don't like Clinton-- and they haven't even had the primaries yet in the biggest states in the country.

Facts that may come back to bite them in the ass. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Off the top of my head, not that many. HE has LOTS of clean far and away victories. And in the last 10 blowouts, he's won the DEM majority.

56. So wait... I can't keep track...
So, what have we widdled the accurate states down to.

Only primaries count,
but only if they are closed,
but only if they have more than 15-20 million people,
but only if they are blue states,
but only if they don't have a large percentage of African Americans,
but only if they don't have a large percentage of wealthy or educated voters,

hmm... at last. I think I figured it out.

New York... It is the only state left that counts.

Hillary and her supporters have found the one accurate state contest. New York. If only New York were counted... then we would have the correct nominee!!!!!!

48. OK, so its not just winning closed primaries
Its winning closed primaries in large states by ANY margin. This is just silly. Obama squeaked by in CT and DE, but he had large margins in DC, LA, and MD. Clinton squeaked by in NM and had moderate margin in AZ. Clinton's big win in this group is OK. Even having her home state of NY in this group she leads by only 75k, Obama would lead by over 200k votes without NY in the equation. With a few more closed primaries to come, I would be very surprised if Obama did not end up with a clear vote lead in closed primaries, with PA most likely being the determining state.

42. A quick breakdown of the various types of contests
Closed primaries are actually the most balanced, Obama has won 5 - 4, Clinton has a narrow vote margin due to NY being one of the closed primaries
Caucuses give Obama a 11 - 2 advantage, Clinton narrowly taking NV as well as winning handily in American Samoa.
Open primaries give Obama a 7 - 2 advantage, Clinton only taking AR and TN.
Modified primaries are Clinton's lone strength, she leads 4 - 1 in these contests, Obama only taking UT. Most of Clinton's big wins are in this category: CA, MA, NH, and NJ

We in Maine are a caucus state, and back in the fall Hillary was ahead by around 20 points. Then Obama beat her in the biggest ever caucus turnout (WAY bigger by far than any other), and Obama kicked the shit out of her almost 60/40.
