The MSNBC Boys' Club struck again last night...
This time is was Tim Russert.

He was droning on about how Hillary has maintained strong support with only one group of voters - women over 50. He went on to another topic but then returned to this group of voters - he mentioned again that they're 50+ and added in a colorful description of them as "aging women".

I'm not yet 50 but Jesus Christ, the bar has sure been lowered and apparently just for women! Russert will be 58 in May.

I'm not a Hillary supporter but I can see why her female supporters over 50 would be incensed at the way they've been marginalized and really insulted in the media.

2. I'll be 50 this year..
...and though I hate to admit it - it feels like aging and it looks like aging and I'll fight it every step of the way - but 40 was better.

I didn't realize that my wife handles me exactly how the paperbag princess handled the dragon until I read that book to my daughters.

4. they should be insulted by Hillary, she is taking them for granted. Obama is trying to appeal to all
Rusert was showing numbers from exit polls where it appears that 50 year old white women and up are the only demographic that continue to vote primarilly for Hillary.

The demos showed rich and poor, educated and high school grads, white and black, men and women.

6. Something Out of Nothing
I'm 51 years old ... no doubt about it, I'm aging.

What gender has to do with the march of time is beyond me.

If Clinton(s)'s female supporters are "incensed" over this description, then I sure feel sorry for them ... it must be very frustrating to live in a world where every other word somebody utters becomes an insult.

17. Unfortunately, Hillary supporters invoke her gender and "experience"
all too often. And as for Obama, the extent to which African-Americans and young people support him although they know very little beyond the fact that Obama is young and African-American is frightening. It isn't really the fault of the candidates, but, I have talked to hundreds of voters and many, many of them, probably even most of them are voting the stereotype, not the platform or the ideas or what the candidates really stand for. Most voters did not look beyond gender, age and race. I'm disgusted with this.

18. Then they intersperse it all with documentaries about sex slaves....
We had this discussion last night at our house. My SO was trying to claim that MSNBC was a bation of liberalism, on the basis of Olbermann's show, I guess (of course, Scarborough, Tucker, and Tweety are all pretty conservative, if you ask me). I also pointed out that they have been consistently running these weird documentaries - SEX SLAVE BUNKER or whatever that thing is, plus the one about the international sex slave trade, which is not only weird but downright creepy when they keep going back and forth between their white male program hosts and that.

I'm surprised Tim Russert hasn't picked up on the charming term "paleofeminist" which has been tossed around here.

I guess there's nothing scarier than a successful woman who's middle-aged plus.
