Lanny Davis says Obama like Lamont, Hillary is like Lieberman.
Jane Hamsher calls it the Battle of the Dim Bulb Surrogates

She has the video up. Then she says:

(Unofficial) Clinton flack Lanny Davis just explained on Fox News that Barack Obama is like Ned Lamont (who, whatever you think of him, won that Democratic Senate primary), and Hillary Clinton is like Joe Lieberman (who, whatever you think of him, refused to abide by the primary result, ran and won as an independent with massive GOP support, and has subsequently endorsed John McCain). Lest anyone miss his meaning, Davis noted that he had been a devout Lieberman booster.

Will Clinton run as a Republican-friendly independent if she fails to get the nomination? Of course not. But that's the scenario Davis has gone out of his way to sketch metaphorically. That's the way to help Clinton get the Democratic nomination.

Keep on keeping on, Lanny.

He may be right? Not many Democrats are very fond of Lieberman.

10. This is not the first time Lanny has made stupid remarks about
the Clintons. I think the Clintons should tell him to get lost.

12. he is like family. normally, smart and
interesting, EXCEPT on the issue of Hillary. You can see him mentally change gears, put on a different hat, and become a salesman with a bad product and a nasty boss demanding more sales, instead of an experienced political operative with smarts.

26. I heard him on a conference round-table.
he knew the subject, and the interaction, especially with those who opposed his views, was professional, respectful, and frankly, interesting.

Can't recall the subject matter, tho.

6. Lanny Davis is much dumber than I thought...
and it's not like I had high hopes for him or anything. Does this mean that Hillary will also be supporting McCain? Certainly, Hill wasn't counting on the Repuke crossover vote to get in, was she?

8. the point Davis is making is that while Lamont may have won
a closely fought primary, with the help of a fairly narrow Democratic coalition, it was Lieberman who had the broader base of support and won the general election.

20. only because there was not a real Republican opponent
Lieberman got a majority of Republican votes. Hillary's not gonna get that many Republican votes in a general election.

27. neither is Obama,
I know that's the fantasy, but I don't see it happening.

Both the Republicans and the media are getting want they wanted with an Obama nomination - a nice, clean canvas for them to smear shit on.

30. If the Democrats weren't split by
Lieberman, Lamont would have won handily.

I wonder if this is foreshadowing an indy run by Hillary, it wouldn't surprise me.

He is vile and truly a Lieberman "so called Dem." If that's who she felt comfortable putting out when she was trying to revitalize her campaign...then I guess she deserves the poor showing in the polls.

34. Is this a balloon
She may honestly believe she can win a three way race as an independent. The Clinton's do win with 3 on the ballot. She was doing just fine with Edwards in the running. I think she honestly believes she has a lock on 40+ percent of voters in a three way race.

35. Lanny Davis is a lying sonovabitch. He was on Tucker on Monday bashing Obama's win in Idaho.
And said that Obama lied to us.

He wasn't even here. I was.
He didn't go to that rally. I did.

He lied about Obama's position on gun control and tried to make Hillary out to be the pro-gun candidate between the two. I laughed.

And so did Tucker.

I thought KO was coming on, so I turned on the teevee.
I only watched the first few minutes until Lanny was done lying about Obama.
Then I turned off the teevee and waited another hour until KO came on.

37. Hillary is Joe Lieberman in a pantsuit!
I wouldn't be at all surprised if she pulls the same kind of stunt, i.e., blackmailing the party into nominating her with an independent bid.

It is all the more reason to vote against her in the primaries.
