I wonder what's going to happen post primaries ad DU
Edited on Wed Feb-20-08 12:30 PM by YOY
Any guesses?

Hillary or Obama are going to get the thumbs up...seems like Obama, but Hillary is not out yet. Once one gets the pick then what here at DU?

Will some of our "more recent" posters magically disappear?

Will long time posters go away?

Will a certain raving lunatic rave for the new candidate, keep raving for the same, or go away?

Will some in our camp move to the other side?

Wonder wonder wonder...

What do y'all think?

2. hard to say
i've been a member here for a long time.....my posting history is pretty sporadic....i still support democratic candidates in general.....i won't vote for obama under any circumstances....so after he wins the nomination i'll probly take a few month hiatus from here....if the democratic party were to largely turn into what du has this primary season i will probly register as an independent...too many slash and burn hate mongers here...i did notice that most of the worst of these were pretty new to this forum....i didn't like the repubs personal attack slash and burn politics....i don't like them anymore now that our side seems to be going down this same road....imho the gop is imploding largely because of those very slash and burn tactics.....all those displaced repubs have to go somewhere....i guess they'll be joining us....

3. If Bo wins I will have no reason to come back, I don't think he
nor McCain are good for the country. My only hope would be for a 3rd party, but the black and youth vote will stay with BO regardless of his inabilities. If he was white he wouldn't have made it past the first round.

4. It will change over night.
Attacks on our nominee will be considered an attack on us.

Because I can't tell anymore who is a recent FReep invader and who is a Dem actually recently joining us on the board...

...Save by those whose comments indicate that Micheal Moore is wrong because he is "fat" and Rosie O'Donnell is wrong because she is a "fat lesbian"...those are FReepers...

6. If Hillary is the nominee
I'll go away for awhile, I won't under any circumstances vote for Hillary. If it's Obama then I'll definitely turn on McCain. Personally I think that by hanging in as long as she has, and going as negative as she has, Hillary is damaging the Democrats GE chances so I'm looking forward to this becoming a one on one contest.

8. again i'll refer you to my post
upthread........the post you linked to says that we'll rally to defeat mccain because we don't want 4 more years of repub rule....and we are all democrats...unfortunately we have ceased to act like progressives...liberals.....or democrats.....i've posted this before but we're reminding me of the bushbots of 2002.....not only will you get flamed for saying anything negative about obama....but even questioning what you think his chances in the ge are

all the poster at this link did was to say...don't underestimate the repub candidate....take a look at the responses........sorry i won't help that into power......

10. It's not a new thing
I've said that since the first time someone mentioned her name to me as a nominee - I said it when she first ran for Senate in New York, I will never vote for Hillary for any office.

14. Without writing an essay on the subject
A wide variety of positions she has taken going back to when she was originally in charge of health care reform (Clinton's first term) right up to her most recent term in the Senate. I don't think she would be any better for the country than McCain - she would just do damage in different areas.

You are helping McCain with this attitude.

You are not Democrats, and this is a Democratic board. I refer you to my post and mean it with all my heart.

My first choices are gone, but I'm a Democrat, so I will vote for the candidate that is chosen according to party procedure.

I will work within the party to effect change, BUT I WILL SUPPORT OUR CANDIDATE.

Get the clothespins if you must but if you decide to do so, go vote for fucking McCain but get off our board.

15. You're entitled to your opinion
and I'm entitled to mine. If the candidate is Obama I'm there to help, if any of the other candidates had won I would have been there to help - not Hillary.

9. It may calm down here for a bit,
but then those folks who become disappointed by our candidate (whoever he or she may be) when they act like politicians who need to garner the support of over 50% of an extremely diverse citizenry, will beging the ritual savaging and anti-candidate posturing all over again. Seems to be the nature of the place.

16. Well,
One or two diehards will still be posting how we're "Dooomed, Doooooooomed"
A couple will still be posting about how unfair it all was and why isn't Hillary the candidate
Freepers will still show up and be deep 6ed
Some Obama fixated will expire in extasy (Do NOT buy a used keyboard from that estate)

Agent Mike will still be watching - Hiya, Mike, luv ya really! :loveya:
