Michelle Obama Hates America!

Are we happy now? Are all the scandal hungry children through grasping for straws regarding a non event?
Or are we still trying to make a mountain
out of a Mole hill
:eyes: geeze people..

1. Thank you, I think it's important to get a candidate's spouses beliefs out in the open
before the general election :hi:

5. Maybe this'll be
for the Hillary supporters, the new version of "Bill Clinton hates the military".

Remember that? Did he really say that? Really?

Keep it up.

Cripes I can't wait to turn the friggin page.

11. As many threads as I see here about the subject prove otherwise.
Now I stood up when people were trashing Chelsea because i thought it was uncool to trash her(even if what she said was insensitive).
I wish more would do the same for Michelle.

10. Whether it's meaningful is irrelevant
it will be used. In fact, it already has been used, and will continue to be used.

Barack had to "explain" today. That's playing defense, and never helps a candidate.

I know you guys would love to disregard everything that reflects negatively on him, but the real world doesn't work that way. Lots of people said the Dean Scream was meaningless - but it had an impact nonetheless.

"I know you guys would love to disregard everything that reflects negatively on him"
I know you guys would love to enhance everything that reflects negatively on him.

I haven't bashed Mrs Clinton once.
I have even defended her.
I just wish my fellow democrats would start acting like such.

I've even defended him.

But to pretend this isn't an issue is just naive.

18. disagree with what?
That it's an issue?

That's insane - it's already been used by the McCain campaign and it's been all over the news. You're just going to pretend none of that happened?

16. It's only an issue for people who would've never voted for ANY Democrat in the GE....
...it's not an issue for anybody that's not a far-right wacko.

21. It's not a standalone issue
but it's a part of a larger campaign they'll use against him - that he's not "American" enough. You wait and see... it's one piece of a big smear. That's why it was unwise of her to say it - don't hand them the ammo.

24. How is it a "some folks say" argument?
Has it or has it not already been used by the McCain campaign? Has it or has it not been aired repeatedly on TV?

"Some folks say" is a method for spreading a lie. This isn't a lie - she said it. It's on tape. And it's being used.

I don't see the point in denying that.

14. One other spouse has been attacked relentless for something equally insulting.
How can it matter whether Michele Obama used the word 'really' or not? What difference can it make in interpretation? (I'm cold. vs I'm really cold, I like chili vs. I really like chili.) Where's the difference?

Obama supporters will tell me the difference is in what she MEANT to say.

But do they believe Bill Clinton MEANT to say: "It is tough to win here in South Carolina if you are opposed by a good black candidate with a good organization. Jesse Jackson beat me and other strong candidates here a couple of times in past primaries."

That's how I interpreted what he said, but many people insist I'm deliberately deceiving myself. They say Bill was obviously denigrating Obama because of his race. Bill does not get the benefit of the doubt with these people. His exact words convict him, and there is only one way to interpret those words.

If those are the ground rules, then it is more than fair -- if I want to -- to interpret Michele Obama's words as meaning: 'I have never been proud of America, and never would have been, except people started voting for Barrack.'

She meant to imply she wasn't patriotic the same way Bill meant to imply he is a racist. If he is guilty, so is she.
