Here are the direct quotes. Decide for yourself, rather than listening to Faux.
Michelle Obama, Speech One: "For the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback."

Michelle Obama, Speech Two: "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of my country, and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change."

Why does she hate America? :eyes:

1. No it is not what she said.
Fibbing about it; re-writing what she said to "fix it up" only makes her look more repulsive to the proud Americans who pledge their allegiance to the flag daily since they could stand.

5. Do you pledge allegiance to the flag daily?
I find that a poor substitute for actual pride in one's country.

6. B.S.! She clearly said that it was the first time she felt proud for that reason.
I pledged my allegience to the flag daily in grade school and it meant nothing to me, because it was just another ritual I was forced to perform.

I didn't appreciate the Pledge until I learned about its history, and how it had been desecrated twice by Congress. I now refuse to recite the version we're told to recite -- I will recite only the original: I pledge allegiance to my flag and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

I don't recite it because it's true, because it's not. I do because of what it promises to become: a nation with liberty and justice for all. Not one where a woman's words can be taken out of context to damn her husband's political career.

7. Huge mistake. Extremely bad statement. Dumb. Dangerous. Childish. Selfish.
How hard does it have to be to see this? People who criticize this country are routinely demonized as "America Haters", and here you have a person who's prospered in this country saying that this is the first time she's feeling proud of her country. It's an idiotic statement. It doesn't really need to be twisted or edited at all.

It's SUPREMELY egocentric: it's effectively stating that the whole country is a demoralizing embarrassment and the only thing that's finally swayed her from this resignation is that dewy-eyed optimism is on the rise. This implies that we've been pessimistic nobodies.

It's better with the "really" in the second edition, because that implies that she had at least a whiff of pride in her homeland and fellow citizens, but the first bake of it is just amateurish.

Something leaders need to understand is that they can't deride everything that's come before without suggesting that they're some kind of gift from the gods; it's solipsistic.

More than anything, this is the danger of exuberance: letting one's tongue run away with one's excitement.

I don't think she meant this like it can and will be portrayed, and it's a simple, human error of joyous excitement, but it should be retracted and clarified IMMEDIATELY. This gives way too much ammunition to the reactionaries, and it portends too much recklessness to come.

It'll also take a bit more than the customary "scratch that", too.

8. The Early Quote, Expanded
“People in this country are ready for change and hungry for a different kind of politics and … for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.”

10. That clip is devastating
The later one where she says "really" with the doctored audio to cleanse that word is greasy, and the way it's used in another clip with the doctored audio over a different image is equally vile, but the direct shot of her standing there, obviously saying it without the qualifier is disastrous. This is grotesque foolishness.

The tiresome zealotry that brooks no dissent at the flawless godliness of the Obamas needs to stop; this election is nowhere near in the bag.

Once again: who's more electable? I sure as hell don't know, and I'm rather fed up with both his campaign and Senator Clinton's.

Sigh.

11. Well at least she wasn't proud of her country
While she sat in her ivory tower as an admin for that hospital in Chicago while people were being thrown out on the street because they didn't have health insurance
