That's George Will's most recent little effort in Newsweek, entitled "How McGovern Made This" http://www.newsweek.com/id/112767.

I guess his point is that since the reform process that produced the primary system for Democrats to choose their candidates was disastrous for McGovern, we'll probably lose in November, as the process is so flawed. I think that is tortured logic but perhaps Will thinks he's got a great thought going.

At least, Will gives McGovern credit for being the true war hero that he was, which I am sure he didn't in 1972. He was too busy cheerleading for that crook Nixon...
