They edited Michelle Obama's comments about being "really" proud
In the first version you will clearly hear her say she’s “really” proud of her county

In this version you’ll be able to hear that the video was edited and they tried to take out the word really. Dirty bastards.

1. I don't know who "they " are...
and if "they" did edit the second one, it's a pretty poor-assed job, Though I hear a "glitch" I still make out "really" on both.

2. I wish I could say I'm surprised but I'm not

I'm disgusted. It's just like how they edited the Dean "scream" by isolating it from all the room noise so it sounded out of place.

9. you would think people might try reading some of the other posts!
Although I can understand the thrill of "catching" the corrupt media altering a recording to use against a candidate. I think either candidates' supporters would be liable to be confused and looking for an "aha" if it was their candidate (or candidate's spouse) in this situation.

4. Talking Points Memo explains it
Michelle Obama gave TWO different speeches. In one she said it was the first time she felt proud of her country and in the other she said it was the first time she felt really proud of her country.

Two different speeches.

5. The one that's being distributed and shown on TV is edited version
The one that is being discussed is the edited version and it's a lot different whether she said the first time she was proud or the first time she was "really proud."

7. So what?
Can someone explain to me the difference between,: "The first time I've been proud of America" and "The first time I've been really proud of America."

Does adding the word "really" mean she wasn't really proud before, but now she is?

Does leaving out "really" mean that she may be proud, but she's not really proud?

What's the difference here?

8. I think the real story is that
someone representing Rupert Murdoch cheated on the clip with 'really' in it.

If she says 'now' she's 'really' proud...that means she had pride before but not like now.

McCains wife is trying to get traction by saying she's always been proud!! or whatever.

They're trying to make it a 'Dean scream'

'She says she's not proud!!!!!' etc.

It's hogwash, but it's been making the rounds. Needs to be squashed, and it wouldn't hurt to find out which bugs are responsible for the editing.
