There's a good chance that the "empty suit" argument is going to come up with your neighbors.

If you can't just rattle stuff off easilly like me, print these out and stick them in your wallet. Memorize them.

4. How did you ever escape?
I suppose a Chicago degree opens doors that a Minnesota degree does not. I sorta find that the value of my diploma goes down the further away I get from the Twin Cities. In the placement office, the only employers were all from the Twin Cities, and although I wanted to attend that school and leave my small town roots, after five years there I did not want to spend another minute there, much less start a career there.

5. I step stoned out. Moved to Albany New York and slowly made my way to NYC. A lot depends on what
your degree is in.

6. Editor Harvard Law Review
I think it is important to challenge a questioner like Tweedy. When Tweety did his "NO, I'm telling you to name one thing from his legislative record!" the correct response would be

"I'm not here to be cross examined by you, Mr. Matthews, nor as a foil to help you prove you're not attacking Hillary tonight. If you want me to explain why I think Texans like Obama, or why I like him, I'll address that. I'm not here to be your whipping boy, or to give you a HARDBALL moment to crow about. This is an interview which is about why I support Obama, not to determine if my reasons fit your personal objectives tonight."

We all know Tweety is an idiot, no matter which side he's bashing or bemoaning at the time, and the best thing to do with idiots is to say "you're an idiot and I won't play your silly game."

Tweety has no place being there on any election/primary/caucus night, because he's such a blithering idiot. He reminds me more and more of Nancy Grace in style and emptiness.

7. Regardless of Matthews intelligence, Watson projected exactly
what was desired to the viewing audience. It's really a shame because Obama really does have a pretty good record for his time in the Illinois and US legislature.

Most Clinton supporters asked the same thing would stumble as well because her record is really no better or worse. The "empty suit" argument strikes a chord because Obama really is a virtual unknown by comparision to many of the other guys running.

8. Charlie Wilson's War made a good book and movie, but did you know ...
... that Charlie bragged his entire career (starting with his years a State Senator before taking the congressional seat in '72, and continuing to the end of his decades in congress) that he had NEVER READ A BILL.

Charlie's a smart guy, too, if an obnoxious, self absorbed drunk and poon hound.

I've never viewed the judging of a legislator by the bills he or she passed, but how they voted and whether they worked for the right things. I don't care who they're fucking, either, as long they don't get caught, or don't have sex with anyone underage, or on staff, or who lobbies them for favors.
