Obama Folks: Michelle's Remark edited by FauxNews before viral posting
Edited on Thu Feb-21-08 10:43 AM by librechik
check it out at Thom Hartmann radio show from yesterday. During the Jan Schakovsky segment is the best place to hear it, although they were talking about it earlier. Fox removed the word "really" from the phrase "really proud" and thus subtly altered the meaning. Then it got posted to the web video site. It's outrageous. I don't think the Obamas are aware of the trick as yet, either. They ought to be told.

1. In one speech the word "really" is not said. I saw another speech were it did sound edited, and also

2. The key is putting the sentence back in context. Check the sentence that
precede. She was talking about American Politics.

They take it out of context and change the meaning.

3. Last night K.O. talked about 3 different ways they edited the comment.
Smearing others is their favorite past time.

4. While Michelles remark is a non-issue and taken out of context, the editing by Fox is not.
This is an outrage and must be nipped before the general!

O'Reilly should also be canned for his lynching comment. Imus was canned for a lot less...

I telephoned CNN about after Hartmann's program yesterday. They did start quoting her with "really" put back in, but they didn't address the editing.

6. She said that phrase several times in different speeches. Check close for different video, as

in 1 she leaves out "really", and another it was/is clearly in there.

I could care less, but I saw at least 2 distinct incidents - it matters because one 'explanation" is saying she was responding to questions, but that is not the case since she said it two times in different venues.

What does suck is, as KO pointed out, the bimbo on Faux "paraphrasing" (misquoting more like it) to explicitly change the meaning of the phrase, to make it worse then it was - REAL BS there.

7. There is no editing. There were two speeches -- one in Madison, one in Milwaukee.
She used "really" in one, but not in the other.

8. She gave the same speech twice
In one, she said "really." In the other, she didn't.
