But could he deliver? Time to evaluate the man and not the
phenomenon.

Obama's voting record in the Senate is one of the most left-wing of any Democrat. Even if he never voted for the Iraq war, his policy for dealing with that country now seems to amount to little more than pulling out quickly, convening a peace conference, inviting the Iranians and the Syrians along and hoping for the best.

There is a sense that he has had to jump over a lower bar than his main rivals have. For America's sake (and the world's), that bar should now be raised—or all kinds of brutal disappointment could follow if he is elected president.

Am afraid that he will be a bigger disappointment to we democrats as bush is to the republicans. Obama needs to be fully vetted and I doubt serious the gop and the rnc will tolerate any of this race baiting and playing of the race card the obama campaign played against the Clintons.

1. His record and policies are almost identical to HRC's
That's why the Clintons had to bring race into it, so they could distinguish him as the Black candidate. Why don't you people compare the records and policies?

9. Hillary supporters were telling us he's a "closet Republican", now he's "too liberal"??
Make up your mind.

Before SC, you guys said he was a Reagan-ite. A Republican in disguise.

Now you're saying that he's "the most left-wing of any Democrat".

You Clinton staffers need to figure out which attack theme you want to use and stick with it....

Obama's genius is fooling everyone into thinking he's a centrist or even *gasp* a closet republican when he's about as liberal as they come. Imagine a president who can convince republicans to support progressive policies. Obama will.

Would you rather he be like Lieberman? Being liberal and anti-war doesn't make one weak and stupid.

14. How do you evaluate such a thing? Could you evaluate the same for Hillary?
No. It would be speculation either way.

15. Original post was taken from The Economist
http://www.economist.com/opinion/displaystory.cfm?story_id=10689547

The original poster repeated (plagiarized?) from that article, with the exception of the post's last two sentences. Even the title of the article.
