Members of the black Congressional caucus are pressing others to endorse Obama |
|
to "follow" the wishes of their constituents... but Kerry and Kennedy are expected to support him, too, even though Clinton won MA?
(was reported on CNN earlier, about a Congressman from Missouri).

2. that's the thing about Super Delegates they aren't tied to a candidate |
|
If one candidate has clear momentum going into the convention you will see several super delegates switch to get on somebody's bandwagon.

3. Obama camp wants the SDs to vote based on the national popular vote... |
|
....not on the popular vote in their individual states.
But nice try.

4. They should not be doing that. I admire the Congressional Black Caucus |
|
very much, but it seems out of character for them to use pressure as a tactic.

6. "but Kerry and Kennedy are expected to support him, too, even though Clinton won MA?" |

The call is to have super delegates represent the will of the majority, not state by state.
Representing their individual constituents on a state by state basis is the Clinton spin (and wont solve a deadlock), but most people (outside of the Hillary camp) are talking about the national vote totals, or the pledged delegate totals.

7. If super delegates are expected to follow the popular votes, then why even bother with them? |
|
Yes, I agree, that's a separate issue.
However the idea of super delegates is, I think, to tweak the popular votes so either they have the freedom to vote their way or they don't. If they cannot vote as they wish then this institution needs to be abolished.
Just curious: if Clinton were winning, would the Obamnites react the same way?
