2 More Superdelegates for Obama today (2-21)
http://www.boston.com/news/politics/politicalintelligence/2008/02/massachusetts_s.html

His campaign announced today that Margaret D. Xifaras, a Democratic National Committee member from Massachusetts, is in the fold.

"I was consciously and purposefully uncommitted in the presidential race for well over a year," she said in a statement issued by the Obama campaign. "I felt strongly that I wanted to see how each campaign handled the organizational, financial, issues development, and strategic aspects of his or her campaign.

"In the last few weeks I have increasingly felt drawn to support Barack Obama," Xifaras added. "From a decisive win in Iowa to the last ten wins after Super Tuesday, Obama and his campaign have shown their strengths organizationally, financially, issues-wise, and certainly strategically. If they had just said those words about change, it would not have been enough -- the campaign would have stalled or peaked long ago. But they have tapped into so many more important lines: financial support, relevant issues, and superb training and reaching out through community based organizers rather than just the same old political establishment."

The Obama campaign also announced today support from the youngest superdelegate, Jason Rae, a 21-year-old college student in Wisconsin, whose primary Obama overwhelmingly won on Tuesday.

"Young people -- most of whom never voted before -- waited in lines for hours to cast their vote for Obama," Rae said in a statement. "As a young member of the Democratic National Committee I know that I represent Americas next generation of voters, and clearly my generation has chosen Senator Obama."

4. As an Obama supporter
I am all for him getting more delegates but Mass was a win for Hillary wasn't it? I have been making the case all along that they should (IMO) vote the way their state did. It would be hypocritical of me to agree with this, good for Obama but not good for the people of Mass being represented. Just my .02

10. HRC did not get 100% of the MA vote - why should she get 100%
of the superdelegates. There was NEVER a vote your state rule. They have always just gone with the winner - but this is the first time that it is possible that no one gets to the magic number. Many think that if one candidate is ahead in pledged delegates he/she should win.

12. I think that's silly. SDs are NOT bound to do that.
I think you can make an argument at the end of the primaries that if one candidate is ahead in every measure that the SDs have a moral obligation to go with that candidate, but that's it.
