2. There are certainly things I like about his presentation...
Can't say I "like" any of the candidates, because I don't know any of them personally.

6. They're both great.
Let's leave the half-assed smears to the soon-to-be-retreating Republican Party.

Oh and they are going to smear. They are clueless, out of touch with Americans, and don't care that they are.

The majority of Dems I know in real life feel the same way! Whether they voted for Obama or Clinton, they like both candidates.

It's true. They really do.

11. Obama supporter who likes Hillary
It gets awfully competitive when it gets down to just the last two standing. Kind of reminds me of how, when our kids were in sports, it was hard not to get into the team rivalries. Like the Smithtown team is somehow evil and must be defeated...when we're all talking about kids...and presumably we were all showing up because we care about....kids. We're here because we believe that getting Democrats elected is better than having Republicans in office. If we disagree as to who is the absolute best one, that shouldn't mean we have to hate the other. But it's human nature, I'm afraid. Hopefully temporary. It'll be better when we get competitive with the real opposition.

Newsmax is a RW source and not a respected source of information.

They're not real popular here or on any Democratic websites.

Nice to have you aboard. :hi:

Not strongly favorable or unfavorable about either.

Slight edge to Clinton as a better potential president; slight edge to Obama as a better potential candidate.

24. Hillary would make a good VP
I have been slow to come to this conclusion, and I would not say she is necessarily the best choice, but I will say that she would be a good VP.

I don't think she would accept it, but I have been wrong before.

Obama definately has more charisma. Hillary's negatives would not be so bad as a VP, and it would unite the party, as well as being a truly historic ticket.

Given the fact that the entire party would unite behind such a ticket, I think this would be a good ticket.

And, I would not say this if I hated Hillary or was a mysogynist.

However I am not sure I will campaign for him in the GE. DU has left me pretty bitter and disgusted.

30. DU is a sandbox full of kitty litter. It's not the real world.
Edited on Fri Feb-22-08 10:58 AM by RandomKoolzip
Out in the real world you will find many hopeful voters, many people who indeed want fundamental and progressive reform. You'll find people who were profoundly changed by their exposure to the political process this year. You will find people, including many young people, genuinely inspired to work for progress. Those people are not on DU; they have jobs, they go to school, they're hopeful for the first time in their lives - the cynicism of DU has not infected them.

It'd be a shame to let those people down.

And I say this, too, as an Obama supporter who had, and will continue to have, great respect for Clinton and ALL the other candidates this election cycle. I would have gladly cast my vote for ANY of them, especially Clinton, who is an astoundingly intelligent, rational and capable politician.

33. Like I said - the Dem already has my vote
The whole tone here at DU has just soured me towards the entire thing. Perhaps the nastiness will wear off by summer time. But as of right now....I am still disgusted with what I have seen here on DU.

I realize that it is not the real world. But folks... your behavior does have an effect on others. Your behavior here can suck the will out of people and frankly make them cringe at the very mention of your candidates name.

Maybe this will go away after the primaries... but right now you keep pushing and pushing ... soon there will be no going back... all of them will stay on ignore... there will be no civility left.... no working together towards November.

As unfair as it is to the respectful Obama supporters (and I do appreciate you guys so much)..... MY first instictive reaction now is "Go fuck yourself assholes".

I am not alone in feeling that way....don't expect it to change soon.

Sometimes being a asshole can go to far and forgiveness becomes unreachable.
