I predict that Senator Obama will be our next President
I further predict that he will be voted into office by an overwhelming majority over Senator mCcain.

If I am wrong, if somehow Senator Clinton turns things around and gets the nomination, I predict that she too will win but not by the same overwhelming majority that Senator Obama will win by. I want everyone to know that I think Senator Clinton would make a great President and will get my fullest enthusiastic support should she somehow get the nomination. At this point, I do not think that she will get that nomination. I do not think Senator Clinton, in spite of a valiant campaign, will be able to overcome the momentum built by Senator Obama. I will even go out on a limb here and predict that Senator Obama will win both Texas and Ohio!

I base my prediction on the strong need by the large majority of American citizens for CHANGE. We The People are over bush and his war against America...one where he favors the wealthy over the rest of us. We the People do not have or even want to have an understanding of politics or economics or foreign policy...we just want to get on with our lives in a country we can have a bit of pride in. Everyone who has felt the pinch from the bush administration's policies will be voting AGAINST mCcain come November. That is what this Obama groundswell is about. We The People see Senator Obama as the one most likely to reverse that pinch and now that he is winning, we will continue to pile on in larger and larger numbers.

We want to go back to business as usual, not the business that bush has given us for the last 7 years but the business of We The People being prosperous again on an individual level. We are sick of the deteriorating systems in America, the education system we send our kids to; the health system which we expect to care for us and our loved ones; the lending systems which we use to buy into the American Dream; our energy systems which are draining our wallets more and more; and our politicians who seem to have not done much to repair these systems. We are sick of the republicans who block the efforts to repair those systems while telling us that everything is just fine on one hand and the terrorists are out to get us on the other hand.

Furthermore, we are tired of this ridiculous, horrible "war". A war that many if not most of We The People feel is unnecessary and needs to be brought to a close rapidly if not sooner. We don't want to hear any more spin about HOW this or that tactic is working out, we don't want to hear any more spin about WHY this or that tactic is not working out. We are done with the "how's" and the "whys", we just want it over with! We want to see our money put to better use, we want our government to stop pouring OUR money down a hole with nothing to show for it. We want our sons and daughters back home and out of harms way.

We The People do not want more bush yet Senator mCcain will try to run on that platform. Where will he get his votes from? Senator mCcain will appeal only to those who want more bush when he goes up against Senator Obama. With bush's approval rating around 19% how many will be voting for mCcain? We already see the beginnings of what I predict will be an exodus from among the republican voters to the Obama camp. Hence my reasoning as to why Obama will get a landslide victory as opposed to a hard fought yet strong victory should Senator Clinton yet get things turned around. I ask again, where will mCcain get those votes from? He will eventually have to resort to a negative campaign. We can plainly see how THAT is working out lately. That negative campaign will boost Senator Obama's votes ever higher!

That then is my prediction and my reasoning behind it. I think We The People believe that we will be taking back our country come November. We will increase the numbers of Democrats in the House and Senate, we will have a Democrat who promised We The People CHANGE as our President. We will send this President and these new congressmen off to work with a mandate from We The People: "YOU PROMISED US CHANGE, WE WANT CHANGE! WE GIVE YOU THE CHANCE TO BRING THAT PROMISE HOME!"

I want to thank the supporters of both Senator Clinton and Senator Obama for helping to bring about this hope for change. YOU made this possible, YOU have given America the chance for change. Now America has begun the rally around one of these GREAT Americans that YOU have placed before us. I've predicted that this election won't be anything less than a total devastating defeat for republicans and the neo-con philosophy. If I am right, (and I do think that I am right), America will have YOU to thank for that.

1. Oh please.
I told my wife this BEFORE he said he would run. The sticker on my car is almost faded to white.

I told her, and others that there would be a calling..and Obama would answer it. My wife thinks I am a prophet at this point, at least there is some payoff to obsessing on politics.

6. I'm 38 years old and I can remember as far back as the Ford administration, but no politician has ..
has ever given a speech like he did that night. I was actually moved to tears. My wife goes "are you crying?" I gave the stupid man answer "no, i got something in my eye."

My wife said "I dunno, I think it will be Harold Ford Jr."

At the time I didn't know who Ford was, then I saw him do a talk show. I told my wife "It's only a matter of time until someone smears him." She just laughed at me. It sucked what happened to him. He is an incredibly intelligent guy, but he was just a bit naive. I don't think we've heard the last of him, but it will be a while until he returns to the national stage.

7. If that was his speech at the DNC
We thought the same thoughts at the same time. Lots of Americans did. Oprah even says this. We COULD have been wrong but lately, we can see that we may have been right. Hence my post. I am no Jean Dixon here but I am saying that: Not only will Senator Obama win, he will win BIG!!!1!

10. Your birthday present was one many of us enjoyed.
It looks to me like it will grow into one that the world shall enjoy too. With an expanded Democratic Congress, those changes America yearns for will likely happen too. President Obama will be one of the GREAT ONES.

11. I have a letter ready to go for him on inauguration day. My only fear is ...
Washington changes him and he doesn't change Washington. I have high hopes, but I also have deep fears.

To put it in football terms, I don't mind throwing the hail-mary when you have Steve Young and Jerry Rice on the field and Bill Walsh on the sideline. Picking Obama is like throwing a hail-mary pass, and I believe him to be Steve Young. Let's hope he picks a Jerry Rice for a running mate, and Congress picks a couple Bill Walsh's to lead to Congress.

So far he, and his campaign officials, have run a great organization and avoided to make the rookie mistakes. Their ground game in the states is solid, and his stump speeches are impeccable.

13. Not a "Niners" fan but I see your point
(Oh and I do not have to be a fan to appreciate and admire the talents of those particular athletes.) You are right though, he DOES need to pick the right VP. I have heard some fine suggestions already here in the DU. Two are ex-generals. We shall just have to wait and see.

9. I am sorry you feel that I am blind
You do not have to elaborate on my blindness, on what it is that I am not seeing in the American People so far. If you are a supporter of Senator Clinton, I thank you for helping her get to where she has gotten and I want you to know I will be there for her should she somehow get things turned around. I am NOT against her. I hope, (blindly?) that we can count on you should my prediction turn out right.

12. Unfortunately, I believe that if Obama becomes our nominee
the MSM will destroy him...and mccain will be elected...I really don't think that Obama is bad...very smooth talker...but I feel in my heart that "the powers" that be...are afraid of Hillary...they attacked her for almost 20 years and the american people would see it if she becomes the nominee...and those same "powers to be" know it...they needed a new target.

My support of Obama would not or could not make a difference against what they will do to him.

16. Yes you can make a difference
You and others like you made the difference by bringing Senator Clinton this far! That to me is praisworthy and I thank you for that.

As to MSM sabotauging the Obama efforts:
Should the MSM or anyone try any funny business I believe it will have a reverse affect. The groundswell suggests to me that We The People are utterly done with business as usual. That would include the antics of MSM. Even now I am hearing rumblings, I suspect that bill o'liely's "lynching" comment will grow beyond his control for instance. I suspect that there will be more "Imus" moments within the msm and with similar consequences....that should help keep things in check. Furthermore, I am seeing Dems turn out in numbers that they have not been doing lately. Senator Clinton, although not doing well against Senator Obama, has consistently drawn in voters 2 to 1 over mCcain. I just don't see us loosing those votes over a right wing attack from the MSM. mCcain is more bush, he admits to it. Bugs bunny could beat mCcain running on that platform.

I am not asking you to join us right now, Senator Clinton still has a chance, she NEEDS folks like you more than ever. I do not see you as my enemy AT ALL. You are fighting the good fight for a GREAT American PERIOD! I post this prediction because I am celebrating what I see will be a tremendous victory for America. Even if I am wrong, if Senator Clinton winds up with the nomination...well I will be quite cheerful about being wrong because we will still kick mCcain's bush kissin butt!

Although I strongly believe Senator Clinton can easily defeat mCcain, at this point I do not see Senator Obama's entire groundswell joining in. Furthermore, as others have pointed out, we won't get as many republican crossovers. Worse we will energise some republicans who are already talking about sitting this one out. Even so, Senator Clinton is a scrapper, she would beat mCain in a hard fought fight and yes she would have MSM out to get her too but she has proven that she can handle them.
