1. Jonathan Alter thinks so,.
Edited on Thu Feb-21-08 11:58 PM by Bleachers7
I think she'll go to March 4. Hillary had a "valedictory" tone in her last answer (to quote CNN, MSNBC).

Hillary also stole 2 lines from Edwards and Bill Clinton and had a good answer.

3. I don't think so. If money is a problem, she might, though.
I read an article, I believe I just saw it posted again in LBN that said GOP money was filtered to Obama in the millions. This is why he is winning and why she is having such a hard time keeping up. I also know how many repuglicans and independents are voting for him, and most will not be voting for him in the GE. We are being played. I hope there's a wakeup call soon. If not, we are in for a world of hurt.

4. HRC is in it till the last damn dog dies and all you obama folks
are not going to be getting any satisfaction and you will have to wait till June 3, and then the convention..

I hope on Friday HRC goes out and begins a new line of attack. Not against obama, hell he's easy enough a target but to begin this last few days before texas and ohio as fighting for the middle class and forget about the experience factor....this is something she should have been doing for a long time and that is be the fighter we always wanted in this candidate. I doubt obama will be able to fight and as modowd said, obama will take the right hook from the republicans and be on the canvass"....

5. "fighting for the middle class "
That's what's really important, not the personalities, egos or generational pride. Immediate troop withdrawal and mandated, universal health care; that's what we need.

11. you're definitely wrong about that
if she loses texas or ohio, she's pulling out

what money would she use to continue?

sorry, i know you really, really want to rub our noses in it, but at some point it IS over, and we're very very close to that point at the moment. If she wins both OH and TX, it's game on and she's in it til PA. If she wins PA, she's in it til the convention

even if she wins all 3 big states she likely won't be able to overcome obamas huge delegate lead

15. point is, she'd be foolish to
stay in and draw this out, if she loses TX and Ohio. Obama will have the advantage in the next states, and she would be once again out of cash. The only thing she would end up doing would be losing credibility inside the party. Just one's perspective.

But we'll see how it plays out.

16. No she's not, she will quit after she loses Texas and Ohio in a landslide.
I support Hillary Clinton but I know reality when I see it.

22. Obviously she will stay until the end...
it's just in how you define "end". TX and OH will be her last primaries I predict. The money is gone, donors are fed up. They are just not going to throw good money after bad. It was obvious to me by her closing statement and what she said about being proud to be on the stage with Obama that she knows it's the end.

8. If she loses Texas and Ohio? Then she's probably going to quit the next day.
Polling doesn't look good for her in Texas; she has a fair lead in Ohio, but...two weeks is a long time in a campaign.

14. yep...which is why she may just win Texas yet...and Ohio
but then I selfishly want a brokered convention that has a surprise candidate that the Republicans have to run around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to figure out how to bash.

Heeeheee...

9. in a word yes
they are not stupid and they can count

one number tells them that they cannot win and another says they are going to be $ 10 million in debt and can kiss the 5 million loan away. They dont have the money to go past Mar 4 she will continue then to try and get as much money in as possible.

if that does not happen then I assume she may stay in for quite a while.

21. She didn't shame herself more than usual.
Edited on Fri Feb-22-08 01:24 AM by dailykoff
In the second half at least she came off looking like a hyperactive harpy and got herself booed with a cheap line about xeroxing speeches. Thanks to a surprise switcheroo at the end she got the last word and what do you know, she had a whopper all ready to spring.

Quit the race now or wait and lose all the remaining primaries?

25. Even if it's a close win in TX and OH, there is no way her
donors are going to hang on for SIX FRIGGIN' WEEKS until the PA vote. Unless she has blowouts in TX and OH (highly unlikely) she will still be behind in the delegate counts. The hill is too steep for her to climb at this point. She's spent (pun intended).

but I'm sure she'll hang on to the bitter end even if it distroys the Democratic Party in the process.

26. I used to think that, too, but after her near concession ending to
tonight's debate, I don't anymore. Maybe it was a head fake, but I don't believe it. She looks like she knows she's beat and is already starting to accept it. The xerox line was forced and awkward and went over like a lead balloon, partly because it was a fed line, not her. Her closing seemed genuine to me, gracious, and meant to be something positive to remember her by.

27. I didn't see the debate live
but caught it on the repeat. After seeing the end I'm kind of thinking too that it seemed like she knew the end for her is near.
