Positive thread: Say something good about the "other" candidate
I am an Obama supporter, obviously, but I admire and respect the dedication to Democratic values that Hillary Clinton has shown over the years. I also love her toughness and unwillingness to back down to the rightwing smear machine. Should Barack not get the nomination, I will happily work and vote for Hillary in the GE.

5. She's smart, savvy, and tough
and she'd make a great president. She just doesn't excite me or bring out the best in me the way Obama does.

I have issues with some of the tactics her campaign has employed, but I do think she'd be a very capable president. If she manages to legitimately capture the nomination, I will be proud to vote for her in November.

6. I was really impressed by Obama last night
He seems to have gotten more specific over the past few weeks about what he plans to do. I don't agree with either candidate on everything, but his manner and intellectual ability were very easy to like.

10. I agree.
were it not for one political overcalculation in 2002 and one major issue difference (on the death penalty), she'd be my candidate--and will be in she gets the nom.

I think she is very intelligent. I do think she has a true passion for women's issues and the well-being of children.

13. There were a couple of moments last night when the real Hillary shone through
These were the best moments in the debate IMO. During the passionate healthcare debate between her and Barack you really got to see what drives her and at the end, you got to see what a nice person she really is. I hate it that another democratic candidate has been ill adviced by democratic handlers. We've seen it over and over. I don't think the problem with our party has ever been our candidates, it is our political strategists!

Why can't the handlers ever let the candidates be themselves instead of trying to refashion them according to polls? I think that is why I like Barack he always appears to be himself, and he isn't over-handled.

I agree wholeheartedly
When she's is herself, and shares what she actually feels, there is a strong connection with people. If what we saw last night and in NH were seen from the beginning, we would be talking about the Hillary presidency. Alas, her political hacks have done her and the country a great disservice in her campaign. I'm obviously a Barack supporter, but could easily see myself voting for her if the tables were turned.

15. I think Hillary is getting better looking with age
My grandmother was like that too. Kind of like 'growing into your looks'. Not at all meaning to offend. I just think she is a 'handsome woman', moreso than pretty.

Oh, and I really do like her almost as much as Obama. I was undecided for a good while there.

24. I'm undecided, so may I say one thing nice about both of them?
Obama was dead on regarding the super-delegates; they MUST go with the populist vote. This over-rides every issue, imo. The people must choose.

Hillary was dead on when it came to his health care plan, it leaves more people uninsured than her plan; she explained the way the costs come down too, and noted he MUST recognize that because in his plan he tries to spread out the money, to lower costs, but he fall shorter in cash (bringing cost of plans down) but not as much as her plan would.

25. I like Obama's support of allowing children of illegal immigrants to go to college.
I like the way he emphasized that they are here through no fault of their own and that not allowing them to educate themselves is like creating a 2nd tier of citizens.

I just don't think the issues are the difference that makes the difference this time, but she does know them to a level probably nobody else does.

27. I really admire Hillary.
She's highly intelligent and savvy. She's attractive and poised and I'm proud of her accomplishments.

I feel badly for her because she deserved so much better as regards her campaign handlers.

Peace
