Personally, I'm thinkin he ends up on QVC - his sales pitch may still work there.

2. Mark Penn is still a hot commodity |
|
I realize it's a fashionable thing now to rag on him, but he'll be hired again and again after this.

4. He took a seemingly unbeatable candidate and totally screwed her... |

Its amazing to think of all the opportunities he squandered.
On top of this, he's espoused microtrends as the answer only to get steamrolled by a macro-trend. I have a hard time seeing how he can resurrect himself. All kidding aside, its more likely he tries to drop into the punditry world. He clearly isn't going to be running a presidential campaign any more.

6. She wasn't unbeatable. |
|
People thought she was because her name was Clinton. It wasn't true.
Mark Penn will find another job in politics. Guarenteed.

9. Clearly she wasn't unbeatable, but Penn's strategy was horrid... |
|
Hillary should have been the issues candidate, not the inevitable candidate. Plus, we've seen virtually no adjustment to her approach. How many more times must we hear the 35 years experience claim?

I think Penn did a decent job. Sometimes you just run into a teflon candidate who arrives at the right place and the right time. Obama is that person.

including the Hillary supporters. I realize its easy to call it in retrospect, and I do think Obama is an insanely good candidate - FAR better than Hillary's folks could have guessed, but still.
David Gergen had the right of it when on CNN after the Wisconsin primary he said that Hillary's campaign should be charged with political malfeasance. They pretty much ceded ALL the caucus states and didn't even try to pick a firewall in the 10 state blow-out run of Obamas. They really had pooooor strategy here.

18. That's because I read up on what Penn actually does |
|
and I don't listen to what the common theme is here on DU. I do my own research.
There is a reason Mark Penn was hired by Hillary and will be hired again. He isn't dumb.
