Edited on Fri Feb-22-08 11:39 AM by jmg257
What else can Hillary try (other then screwing with Fl & Mi?).

Everything she tries is no help or even turns out as a negative..what else is there?

(other then just accept the inevitable, I mean)

5. No way. He doesn't need her (and Bill) as his VP. He needs someone with good judgement with
foreign policy experience. Like Jim Webb.

15. Webb doesn't have much foreign policy experience--less than Obama.

17. absolutely no way!
if there is change to be made you can't have the Clintons in the scene.
That would be just HORRID, the whole point of his campaign would be thrown out the window.

6. If you watched the whole debate instead of "just clips", there was no doubt....
....and just about every post debate wrap up in every medium possible called it a win for Barack, or at worst... a draw.

8. I never believe the wrap ups.
And who won isn't necessarily who won.

Kerry won every debate against W supposedly. And yet we saw how that played out.

10. I don't think either came out ahead with any sort of decisive victory
She did get a little nasty and got bood for it but I didn't see it as a big deal and I don't think most did either, it was just a couple of seconds and her closing remarks were delivered well.

That being said, she needed more than just an even finish in order to really get ahead in this race.

7. Well, since Swiftboating Clinton worked, lets Hope he'll Swiftboat McCain too.
It's a disgusting tactic, but he's pretty darn good at it, so I say stay with his strength.

11. Oh, I wouldn't say BO did the swiftboating
The media just wanted to attack Hillary.

If Obama gets the nomination, he will be the next target, just a day or two after the convention.

Just watch.

He will be ahead of McCain by 56% to 40 the day after the convention.

Then the media will find smear, lie, fake scandal after another.

I hope he can withstand them.

Otherwise, it will be 49 to 49 the day before the election, and certain people in Florida and Ohio will decide for us.

26. Ohio has been working on the problems here
Our new Democratic Secretary of State just got rid of another Republican who was running the GOP out of the election office in his county. And we did get Blackwell out. And thank goodness for Governor Strickland. It will be harder for the Ohio vote to be fraudulent this time.

12. First of all...
...I despise the word 'swiftboat' as a verb. It make me cringe.

That said, if anyone 'swiftboated' Hillary, it was Hillary herself, not Obama. They developed a campaign strategy which utterly failed and then were left completely unprepared strategically and financially to deal with what came after Super Tuesday. And the results are obvious.

That and they ran into a dynamic candidate with a strong grass roots support at a time when the country obviously wants a fresh face over more of the same Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton nonsense.

20. She has experience ... she can start whistle blowing ...
she could have a national press conference and provide a detailed description of the top ten insider crimes in Washington (oooh, aaaah, OMG!) and then tell the public "if I am elected as POTUS, I will give you the list of the remaining most damagin 500 crimes."

25. I think we need to look at reconciliation here on DU.
Edited on Fri Feb-22-08 12:25 PM by backscatter712
Go ahead and call me hypocrite. I'm guilty as charged. I've thrown some vicious ones here on GD-P, but you know what, I think we need to start looking at November. I do apologize to everyone I've offended with those comments.

Hillary Clinton did pose quite a challenge - she's a very strong debater, and had strong momentum coming into the primaries.

But in my opinion, Obama is the strongest candidate. He's a very principled, decent man, more decent than I, he agrees with us for the most part on the issues - we just disagree on details, and he has the strength of character and a rare talent in speaking and politics that I think we're privileged to see maybe once in a generation.

And it is clear to me, at least in my humble opinion, that he will win the nomination. Barring some catastrophe, of course.

I hope everyone here will set aside their differences and give him your support.
