He'd be able to protect Obama from the attacks that he is too liberal.

16. Having another candidate run to your left makes you look more moderate |
|
The only drawback is if they take a bunch of votes from you, but that won't be a problem with Nader.

I had forgotten about the kind of campaign Nader ran last time when he was more focused on attacking the Democrats than the Republicans.

As in running as an independent? Well, I think it would hurt the democratic party because I think it would draw voters away to her and put the republicans back in office.

20. I think Nader is hated by most Democrats at this point. |
|
It wouldn't hurt either candidate enough to throw the election. BUT Obama is the safer candidate to run if Nader decides to be a dick and fuck up the election again. He beats McCain by a much larger margin.

35. Please do not underestimate Nader, Come on |
|
We really can't have him run this year. The stakes are too high!!!! Like it or not, but there will be some very upset voters this year b/c their dem candidate didn't win, that some will vote for Nader out of spite! Please, I've already heard some ppl saying that they'll vote for McCain if their candidate loses. It is not a good thing if he runs this year, he could affect the election. Don't take anything for granted, we NEED TO WIN THIS YEAR!!! Bombs away McCain cannot step foot in the whitehouse.

37. That would only work if splinterists actually want to accomplish something. |
|
Largely I do not think that is true. I think they are in it because they enjoy having feelings of self-righteousness, or to think of themselves as superior to everyone else. They ran candidates against Ned Lamont and Paul Wellstone, for instance. You cannot give them something that will make them not want to seem smarter than everyone in the two major political parties.

Are you nuts? Maybe if he had stayed loyal and hadn't fucked Gore and kerry, but he's aprtly responsible for the mess this country is in.
And you want to essentially reward him for that?
