The McCain story and the tragedy at the Hillary motorcade: will it make voters feel sorry for them? |
|
Edited on Fri Feb-22-08 02:16 PM by Carrieyazel
I heard some noise on the radio from a caller saying that these two recent stories: the McCain/NY Times flap, and the tragic motorcade accident in Hillary's Secret Service detail, will make voters feel empathy for McCain and Hillary.
These are two VERY different stories, but still, I'm starting to see how political gain can be obtained here. (I know its terrible for the female officer who died).
Anyone else agree?

1. The motorcade story can, should, and will disappear. |

the McCain story will have legs at least through the weekend. It won't help him one lick.

2. I think the officer who died will cause sympathy for the officer's family. |

The only thing HC will be able to get out of it is that it was a chance for her to appear compassionate on TV. (She's probably just faking that. :sarcasm:)
McCain's story is at least about him and I think it will get him some mileage.
EDIT: By McCain's story I mean his experience as a POW.

3. The officer's death is the tragedy, for her family. The other two are background..n/t |
