Dream Ticket Express - Check in!

Who here is hoping for either a Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton ticket?

I hope for the sake of the party, democracy and the country both of them can put aside their differences and MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

3. I'm all for it.
It would really show unity and I think they would work very well together.

But I must object to the the banner you have on your post -

I think either both first names or both last names.

7. No. We need every Senator we have
Besides, I think we need a fresh face in the VP slot-not one that the GOP has been assembling attack pieces on since the beginning of the campaign. I'd rather see a governor or former governor be the running mate.

8. I heartily disagree
Hillary would be much more effective on the Supreme Court if Obama was on the top of the ticket. If she's not the nominee, her talents would be wasted as a second banana (sorry, but thats what a veep is).

20. I think Clark would listen to overtures from Obama
Being a VP for any Democrat can't be bad, can it?

10. That's the emotional choice, but not the rational one.

If Obama maintains his delegate lead going into the convention, I can't see him settling for the number two spot on a ticket headed by Clinton; I also can't see him choosing her for VP. SHe doesn't bring anything to the ticket in terms of increased favourability or demographic appeal, and she has negatives that may actually prove a detriment in a general election.

Conversely, should Clinton enter the convention with a delegate lead, Obama as VP makes a certain amount of sense for her, as it broadens her demographic appeal. However, I don't see either combination of Obama/Clinton or Clinton/Obama, because of the need for both, should they win the nomination, to balance the ticket with someone who has foreign policy/national security credibility and depth. I'd look for Wesley Clark, Joe Biden or Jim Webb as likely VP picks for either, personally.

12. I do.
I had not thought it was a good idea. But then friend David Z posted an interesting OP here, and it was one of those ideas that one thinks about even after moving away from the computer. And last night, some young folks that watched the debate here were all in favor of it.

I think that Obama will be a progressive president. Also, since Cheney expanded the power of the OVP, it might be an attractive position for Clinton. And that would allow Robert Kennedy Jr to take the US Senate seat.

13. Not a chance.... give up this delusion.....
Adding Hillary to his ticket sabotages the appeal of Obama's campaign.

He's running AGAINST the culture in Washington... and like it or not, Hillary is emblematic of that culture.

Hillary would be a drag on Obama's ticket.

It will not happen.... Obama's staff are very smart political minds. Hillary brings NOTHING to his campaign... he'll win NY with or without her, she doesnt offset his foreign policy experience, she doesn't compliment his weaknesses.

It will be Richardson, Webb, Zinni, or Biden.

Why would the most charismatic candidate in a generation choose someone with sky-high negatives like Hillary?

He would be the perfect choice with McCain as the Republican. He can talk about McCain's dangerous FP experience with authority and also opposed the war from the start

But since I do not think Clinton would take VP, I hope Obama picks Richardson.
