"If he runs the country as well as he ran his campaign, we'll be all right." |
|
Who said it?
"He is going to be the president of the United States for the next 4 years. He deserves our congratulations. He ran a good campaign. He ran a tough campaign. If he runs the country as well as he ran his campaign, we'll be all right." -- Vice President Dan Quayle in his concession speech on 11/3/92 in Huntington, Indiana.
I'm betting that Hillary's speech on the night of March 4th, or on the afternoon of March 5th, sounds an awful lot like that one.
It was the one time in Dan Quayle's life that he actually sounded wise. ;-)

1. Remeber when Quayle was the acme of "not too bright" in D.C.? |
|
In retrospect he seems positively brilliant compared to what we've endured for seven years.

3. I posted it because it was the one QUAINT moment in Quayle's career.... when his guard was down.... |
|
...
I remembered it the night it happened, and I thought "WTF? Where has THAT been?"
...and it was about the Big Dawg too.
