Sorry, because I know she doesn't deserve this, but, I keep having the same reaction to her on TV:

Eyes pulled back, severe sculptured white-blonde hair, unfocused, beedy, wandering eyes. There is no stillness in her. She's like a hunted animal. Glancing around the room. If she really wants to be the adoring wife, she should emmulate Condi or Miers: Fix her gaze on John like he's the only man alive. She should just "glow" at him.

These are traits that reflect the spiritual/psychological state of this person. Then there is her speech. She acts like a scared, abused wife. I wonder about her. She seems very unhappy in spite of her plastic smile. If McCain's wife is that unhappy, why should I believe that McCain can make Americans happy?

That's what I liked about the Edwards. In spite of all their problems, they seemed to trust and love each other. That does not mean that their marriage is made in heaven. It means they really communicate.

I suspect that McCain is less of a man in the spiritual sense than he would like us to believe. I don't think he is capable of being a partner, of accepting and appreciating his wife as his equal. Most men of his generation were taught to dominate women. There are exceptions. And many men have learned the joys of equality in marriage during their adult years. But, McCain just seems to be not a person who is really capable of loving his wife or of making her happy.

33. I don't know anything about her. I don't want to say that her eyes mean anything

about her. I really don't. But image is everything in politics now. Even though she's not running, they do use her as a backdrop, to attempt to soften and humanize him, and remove some of his years. She's supposed to make him appear virile.

So, I'll limit my opinion to that effect and not make assumptions about the woman. Who knows. Maybe she's a very good, compassionatte, caring person. I wouldn't know.

Obviously his handlers have done the focus group on him and she's helping, or she wouldn't be there. Barbara Bush wasn't used in that way for obvious reasons. They see Cindy as an asset.

But I don't. I'd sooner be impressed if she were a normal, wrinkled, frumpy 70 year old with a gaggle of cute grandchildren around her. But that's just me.

I think something needs to be done with the makeup to make her look less severe and her eyes less strange. I don't think it's making her look good on TV standing behind McCain.
