edit: On the 'wording' I can't find the quote, but from memory 1. Platoons are run by Lts, not Captians, and 2. platoons aren't split up. Observation: Our people do use the various AKs they find because 1. nothing sounds like an AK, and that can be tactical, 2. they're rugged and relaible, and 3. there's usually plenty of rounds.

OK, now we're really splitting hairs. Obama was relating an account from memory as best he could.
It has now been vetted and proven to have been pretty darn accurate. No one "lied" or attempted to "lie" in any way shape or form. Have you ever tried to relate something you were told, among the thousands of things you are told over time, and didn't have each and every minute detail absoltely perfect? Please give me a break.
It's now been vetted, and Obama was pretty spot on in trying to recall just what he was told. Now as to lying, how about Hillary with her "I'm against illegal aliens having driver's licenses" after saying clearly that such a plan "makes sense." You tell me who doesn't talk straight. And you can find hundreds of times that she has parsed, himmed and hawed, and given evasive answers.

BTW, I was sort of shocked with the amount of details CNN provided about this guy. Based on stating his rank, where he went in Afganistan and the size of his unit, they pretty much told the Department of Defense EXACTLY who he was. I was pretty shocked at that.
