I would like to see Obama gesture with his hands less
I don't think it's particularly effective. It makes him look weak when he responds to questions. And sometimes his gestures are out of sync with his words, which looks odd. I noticed it in the debate last night.

Anyone else notice this?

1. Yeah, if he could just do things right he could win primaries by
30% instead of 20%.

5. There's always room for improvement.
This should just be a small tweak.

so he looks less like the black candidate.

Italian-African American mayor of Cleveland did endorse him.

4. I've always liked his gestures.
Seriously! I remember thinking, when he gave the keynote at our last convention, how elegant his movements seemed.

(Having said that, I'm usually listening and not watching lately.)

9. I'm just talking about debates
when he's speaking extemporaneously. His gestures during speeches are fine, imo.

6. Hand gestures help some people talk
It's probably not something he's thinking about, it just happens. As long as he's not giving people the middle finger I think it's fine.

16. This is true. I used to be a big hand gesturer when I was growing up but
then my hyper critical older brother alerted me to that fact and said it was weird and that I should cut it out - which I did.

Now I never or very rarely use my hands but I'm a lousy verbal communicator and I get very anxious speaking - and I talk way too fast to get it over with.

I've tried going back to using my hands (which seemed to be a natural thing for me to do) but now I am too self conscious about it and it seems phony.

7. I noticed Hillary talking with her hands a lot,
In fact her hands never stopped.

but all I noticed about Obama was him trying to make the paper be still that apparently was in the direct breeze of a fan.

12. the paper blowing constantly was funny.
I'm not a HRC supporter so I don't care what she does. I am an Obama supporter and I think it undermines his communication a bit.

8. I think he should glue googly eyes to his knuckles.
And do all of his speeches using hand puppets.

That'll make it a little more fair for his opponents.

I noticed because his hands were always in view.

13. For some reason there was a stiff breeze blowing his notepad
last night and he had to keep anchoring it down. Just his, not Hilly's. Accidental I'm sure.

19. Should he shake his finger in your face like Bill Clinton?
When he heatedly denies having sex with that woman, compares Obama to Jesse Jackson, whines about how unfair the press is to Hillary or whatever.

21. Who cares what she does?
She's not going to be the nominee. I want him to be the best candidate possible. The frequent and out of sync hand gestures have got to be toned down.
