9. Of top 15 counties with highest turnout-- |
|
As percentage of registered voters--
1. Hidalgo (Rio Grande Valley) 2. Cameron (Rio Grande Valley) 3. (tie in pct.) Travis (Austin) 3. El Paso (El Paso) 5. Nueces (Corpus Christi)
Four out of five are majority Hispanic. I understand Webb County (Laredo, 94% Hispanic) has also broken all records for early voting, but I can't find any hard numbers.
Massive voter turnout in Texas. I live in Corpus Christi--lots of interest in the election, and turnout in the primary may break the 30% mark, unheard of for this area of the state.

Dallas county is about 2.5 million
Four of those five counties you listed total about 2.2 mil residents, and those counties should be good for Hillary (Hidalgo, Cameron, El Paso, and Nueces).
But Harris county (Houston) is 4 million and Dallas County (Dallas) is 2.5 mil.
Travis county (Austin) is about 1.0 mil.
Obama should win Travis, Dallas and Harris counties BIG, and collectively, they have 7.5 mil residents.
I should also mention Bexar County (San Antonio) with about 1.5 mil residents, which will probably split, with the edge to Hillary
There are about 25 million residents of Texas, maybe a little less. Of those, about 11.5 million are in these 8 counties:
Harris, Dallas, Travis, Bexar, Hidalgo, Cameron, El Paso, and Nueces. .
