Is anyone talking about Hillary leaving Texas early?
Edited on Fri Feb-22-08 11:56 PM by votesomemore
Or is that just being broadcast in Texas? One of her Dallas rallies was canceled.

 Don't see anyone talking about it.

edit: I should have mentioned, I know WHY. I agree she did the right thing.

Does this mean anything for her bid in Texas?

1. It was because of the wreck, I'm sure.
Which has been kind of talked over, yes. Very sad indeed.

6. Right.
I'm just getting in from work. We can't use the Internet, so I come in from behind. Thanks.

2. I think it's because one of the officers on her motorcade was killed in an accident
and at least Hillary was classy about it - respected the memory of the officer.

4. I think the canceled rally was because of the motorcade officer who died.

7. She did the honorable thing.
The officer had a wife and 4 kids. More info in the LBN forum.

It is beyond horrific.

This is 4 in just 3 years. We need to STOP the royal treatment for politicians, period.

God bless Hillary for her sensitivity to this.

12. This isn't "royal treatment" - it's security and it's necessary
It's horrible that this happened, but it doesn't mean that we need to pull down the candidates' security - and I'm sure the police would say the same thing, even as they mourn.

13. Do you really think that a motorcade is absolutely necessary?
Edited on Sat Feb-23-08 01:21 PM by Yael
One would think that splitting up the party into different routes would be more effective.

Just thinking out loud here. I have never served in a security capacity to know effectiveness.

Edit for spelling

14. Motorcades are absolutely necessary
I understand that it may seem counterintuitive, but there are a number of practical, logistical, and security reasons that a motorcade is necessary. And even if you split up the party, the protectee would still need the Secret Service, police and, yes, motorcycles.
