Should Clinton take the VP spot? I don't think so. |
|
I happen to think she would be the best President...IF her name wasn't Clinton, but it is! I am not as concerned about uniting the party as I am about showing the Country that "the ticket" is balanced. If Obama's lack of experience is with the military and national security, his choice of a VP should reflect someone strong in those areas. That's not Hillary! My choice would be Schwatzcof, but I think he's a Pub! He's GREAT with the media, a terrific speaker, and a very good military strategist.

5. Clark is NOT a politician! I like him as a General, but in a Presidential Campaign you need |
|
a polotician too! That's why I mentioned Shwartskopf. He IS also a good politician!

The guys is currently 73 years old.
Please stop this nonsense. Even the repukes aren't looking to him for a role in the next administration.

18. Clark did win more states than Edwards in 04 I believe |
|
To say he is less of a politician than someone than never ran is absurd!
Clark would be an almost-perfect choice as VP.
He has strong security credentials, is a good debater, is a PROGRESSIVE, was endorsed by both George McGovern and Michael Moore yet he is viewed as a moderate, he would help in the South and West, he is brilliant and spent more time than anyone in 06 working to help get a Democratic Congress....I could go on.
He also supports Clinton, so his choice would be reaching out to the Hillary camp for unity.
All in all, a great choice.

21. I couldn't disagree more. |
|
First there is the question of who made the ballots in New Mexico disappear. Second I have issues with a politician who will try to manipulate intelligence in order to start a war. Bush/Cheney weren't the first to try to trump up fake WMD threats from Iraq.

for VP. New Mexico has a large native population, and Richardson is generally well regarded by indian people. Native rights are of primary importance to me, and having a solid advocate in Washington can only help.

here's Stormin Norman on John McCain: http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/News/PressReleases/2c677fa5-dd17-49f8-bf30-e972eee012cd.htm"Senator John McCain has served our country with honor in war and in peace. He has demonstrated the type of courageous leadership our country sorely needs at this time. For that reason, he has my complete support."

I know Norm is a Pub, but he is a great General and knows how to lead and deal with the media too. I can't think of any Dem who has those same attributes!

11. Well, I think we are all out of war hero generals right now |
|
given that since Stormin Norman, we haven't really won anything. Well, except Clark did do an adequate job of AVOIDING war in the Balkans (the worst parts of a war). Yet to be seen if that will work out completely. But a real war general that marched in, kicked ass, and marched out again and brought almost everyone back home... we are fresh out of those.
Of course, the more we learn about the lead up to Gulf War I... the more troubled I am about that whole war (not that it's Gen Norman's problem)..

And Milosovek was ousted.
I'd say that is kicking some ass. Efficiently.

Senator from Virginia, highly decorated Marine combat veteran, Navy secretary in the Reagan administration. Smart money says he's Obama's VP pick. (If it's not him, it'll most likely be Wesley Clark or Joe Biden.)

|
My biggest concern is that we'd be pulling another Dem Senator out of the very close Senate majority! No matter who wins this nomination, we will be losing ONE Senator. Right now we have a whopping "1" sort of majority, except Lieberman isn't really a Dem anymore. i think I heard there was a possibility of gaining 7 Senate seats "if we win them all". Can we afford to give up another Senate Seat?

It is important that we have more Democrats in Congress, we can't afford to lose even one. Our Prez should pick a governor from a liberal state, hopefully.

This "Obamaton" would welcome Gen. Clark despite the fact that he appears to be on Hil's payroll. I want a VP that brings even more credibility to the Democratic ticket, and his credibility is obvious in matters of the military.
