Why are you so opposed to the opposite candidate?
Without naming your nemesis, using their gender, or obvious well known statements of theirs, describe why you aren't happy with the "other guy".

Then describe in one sentence why you are voting for your candidate, using the same guidelines.

1. I'm not opposed to the opposite candidate
I find the two pretty similar to each other, and I prefer one because I find her marginally more reliable than him.

3. Oops, you used gender

You have to make it harder than that to figure out who you're voting for. :)

5. If I can't use their statements or voting records...
how can I possibly answer you.

I'll give you a hint. It has nothing to do with the any of the following:

1. Sex
2. Age
3. Race
4. Religion or lack of one
5. Surrogates
6. Supporters here at DU

I weighed their statements, their voting records, their close associates, their stated goals, and their leadership abilities... and their public records. And I made a choice. I'm happy with that choice and, generally, happy with the candidate I've selected.

As for the "other guy", the biggest problem I have with ANY politician is hypocrisy in any form, not to mention politics that offends my sense of fair play. Those two items bother me a great deal about the "other guy" and the supporters of the "other guy".

6. I'm not.
I have concerns about the campaign Hillary's running. I won't vote in the primary for anyone who voted for the IWR, and I'd prefer to move on from the cycle of bush/clinton, but I admire her and think she's very bright and informed.

I'm voting for Obama because, I think he demonstrates real leadership skills, his polices are most OK. He's run a superb campaign. He's bright and demonstrates good judgment.

7. Im opposed to the opposite cadidate because

(Im sure people will be able to figure out who im referring to by issues alone)

This candidate voted for the Iraq war and refused to apologize. I am not convinced this candidate will stop the war.

This candidate has no respect for the 1st amendment and supports the anti flag burning amendment. This candidate is also trying to single out video games as a campaign issue.

This candidate will further punish poor people who dont have health insurance by making them pay a fee ontop of it.

This candidate does not seem trust worthy because the candidate has taken quotes out of contest of my candidate to make it look like my candidate flip flopped on the Iraq war when my candidate didnt.

This candidate seems to not respect democracy and would have no problem winning by a superdelegate coup.

This candidate does not seem like he/she could beat John McCain.

This candidate has huge support among corporations including News Corp who held a fund raiser for.

This candidate believes in the Bush foreign policy and does not support diplomacy with enemies.

10. The more I find out the more alarmed I am.
It probably sounds nutty but I strongly suspect that the other candidate has been a ringer all along for the Bush-Cheney neocon cabal currently in office. And they are not going to let themselves get beaten without resorting to the ugliest of ugly tricks.

11. I think the other candiate
is too slanted toward the right. I am voting for the one who brings the most to the table, the one who seems to have a handle on the big issues and the one I feel can beat McCain.

was that too nuanced? :P

12. I don't like the right wing, reactionary campaign being run
I don't want a president who voted for the IWR. I want a president who won't bankrupt the government as he/she has bankrupted his/her campaign.
