Hillart Supporters should be proud
I have a couple republican friends in Texas who say they have gotten calls from someone claiming to be from the RNC. In the phone calls they are urged to vote for Hillary Clinton now that McCain has the republican nomination all tied up. Apparently they aer telling people that they want Hillary to have the nomination because she is easier to beat in the fall.

However, I have a hard time believing that anyone from the republican national committee would be calling Texas voters and urging them to vote for Clinton. I could have sworn that a lot of republicans hated Hillary outright. Is this some new tactic from Hillary in an attempt to to win Texas?

I am more than a litle confused here, and I am not sure that I can believe that:
1) That the RNC would honestly do something like this
2) That the HRC campaign would honestly do something like this

Any input?

2. All these claims of pukes crossing over to sabotage are rediculous.
People have been claiming that Obama's winning margins are due to puke infiltrators, because they think HE's the easier one to beat.

I think its stupid. And, I think closer to the truth is these stories are a way for the pukes to soften the blow that so many are so jaded with their party they are voting Dem.

21. Not the way I remember. Nixon won almost 61% popular vote.
Neither Wallace or McGovern were popular. My family was republican back then and I don't remember them getting any marching orders from the RNC either.

Oh wait a minute. You mean Obama is going to win with 61% of the popular vote and get a landslide in electoral votes!

Man, that would be fantastic!

Texas is Obama country!

E-mail to send to Texas Republicans

Attention All Texas Republicans and Independents!!

On March 4th, Texas Republicans and Independents will have an opportunity to end Hillary Clinton's (and Bill's) presidential ambitions once and for all!

Since Texas has on open primary, Republicans and Independents should sign in at their polling place and request a Democratic ballot. They should then vote for Barack Obama. Even James Carville admits that if Hillary loses Texas, "she's done!" Republicans can help make this a reality!!! Just think, no more Clintons in the White House!

Voting Democratic this one time will have NO effect on your ability to vote in the next Republican primary or obviously on your vote in November. Since John McCain has the Republican nomination locked up, voting for McCain or Huckabee at this point will have no effect on the outcome on the Republican side.

After you vote during early voting or on March 4th, you ARE NOT done! Report back to your regular polling place at 7PM on March 4th to sign the Barack Obama list for caucus delegates. In a little known Texas voting quirk, 67 delegates to the Democratic convention will be seated because of these caucuses. This is a full one-third of the total number of Texas delegates. For Hillary to lose, she has to lose the primary votes AND the caucus votes.

I urge you to vote against Hillary Clinton by voting for Barack Obama. Please forward this e-mail to all your Texas Republican and Independent friends so that we can help ensure the Clinton's defeat on March 4th!!!

18. It's all the Clintonistas can cling to
they just can't accept the fact that she's losing so they have to dream up "magic bullet" scenarios like this one to explain away why she keeps losing. It's ridiculous that even at this late date they can't accept reality: she's not a winning candidate. 45% of the American electorate will not vote for her under any circumstance. And I bet half of those are Democrats.

WANNA BECOME AN OBAMACRAT?!!!
By Obama Florida 2008
Published: April 24, 2007
….
That’s why “Democrat for a Day” was launched this spring by ObamaFlorida2008. Using the official forms provided by all Supervisors of Elections offices, you may re-register as a Democrat for that one day — when the primary is likely to be held — on February 5, 2008. You must do so before the end of 2007, to make sure it is done 30 days before the primary.
But this is not about some “hard sell” to recruit voters to become permanent Democrats. Not at all. After the primary, you may re-register back to the Republican or Libertarian parties, or revert to your previous status as an Independent! There will be plenty of time before the general election in November 2008.
….
But we’re finding that up to 20 percent of Obama supporters are registered Republicans.
In fact, during the first couple of weeks in April, some 150 Republicans indeed became “Democrats for a Day.” You might call them “Obamacrats!”

Obama Flyer in Nevada:

A flyer was distributed in Nevada by an Obama precinct captain, similar to the above Florida page - http://www.taylormarsh.com/archives_view.php?id=26826

Dick Morris’ explicit instructions to Republicans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yt_jnhsyqg0

Obama’s Democrat for a Day training video: http://www . youtube.com/watch?v=JUE4Kp0YERs

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews on 2-19-2008 also talked about Republicans having "some fun" voting for Obama:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23255694 /
MATTHEWS: Let me talk to you. Let me go right now, Ron, is that your theory, that—well, it‘s mine, too—that if you can vote if you‘re a moderate or independent voter or you‘re a Republican who doesn‘t think it‘s important to vote on the Republican side, since it‘s locked up for McCain, have some fun and vote for somebody you have sort of an interest in, Barack Obama, perhaps?

I really don't think this republican interference is directed at Hillary per se. She just happens to be the candidate that supports mandated, universal health care.

11. Thank you for posting this...I've been saying this for some time now...that the GOP wants the weaker
Democratic nominee in November...and they know that nominee is Obama.

They don't want to go up against Sen. Clinton in November.

So their support of Obama in these open primaries has not been about Obama...it's about their hatred of Bill and Hillary Clinton.

I'm going to save your post...and email it to a few people I know, if that's OK with you.

17. Thanks for posting this. This is a good argument for a
single national primary day, so this kind of crap doesn't happen. And anyone who doesn't believe repubs are voting for Obama to try to skew the primary must have blinders on. Their candidate is chosen -- they have nothing to lose.

22. Your evidence doesn't bear out your premise
"if Hillary loses Texas, “she’s done!” Republicans can help make this a reality!!! Just think, no more Clintons in the White House!"

Sounds like they're voting for Obama because they dislike Hillary intensely, not because Obama is "weaker". They are trying to ensure Clinton has no chance at the WH. True, they may very well vote for McCain in the general, but it seems they are more concerned that if a Dem does win the general, they'd prefer it be Obama.

If the situations were reversed, with the Dem nomination locked up and a close race between McCain and Giuiliani, I'd be voting in their primary against Giuliani -- not because McCain would be easier to beat, but because I'd rather have McCain should the GE tilt in the Repukes' favor.

opinion? Ive done a search though it and can't find it.

Seems to be only your opinion for now. And don't ya know, we all got one of those.

anecdotal evidence posted anonymously deserves discussion? Apparently you do, so here's my imput. If it's not fiction, then it's an aberration, Obama's the one who has solicited Republican votes, and he's the one that RWers have been pushing to win the Democratic nomination.
