Oops... Bad Day At Hanging Rock - ABC News
Bad Day at Hanging Rock
February 23, 2008 10:53 AM

<snip>

Texas state Rep. Aaron Pena, the director of outreach for the Clinton campaign in the Rio Grande Valley, was spotted dancing on the dais at an Obama rally.

"I will maintain my commitment," the lawmaker told the Rio Grande Guardian. "But it appears to be increasingly evident who's going to win."

Maybe I'm wrong, but it's likely not a good omen if your supporters are spotted rocking out at a rally for your opponent.

The Washington Post has some further depressing news for the junior senator from New York.

Or rather, depressing news about people anticipating depressing news.

"Some supporters said they had discussed how to raise with Clinton the subject of withdrawing from the race should she fail to win decisively on March 4. One option was to wait a day or two and then dispatch emissaries to former president Clinton to urge him to make the case."

Adds someone in the know: "She knows where things are going. It's pretty clear she has a big decision. But it's daunting. It's still hard to accept."

Ruh-roh.

6. I almost feel kind of bad. I'm listening to her at the 'black union' thing and she sounds sad.
Edited on Sat Feb-23-08 06:43 PM by loveangelc
She shouldn't have said the shit today. I think she knows she's losing, and everyoone pretty much has their minds made up now. The last ditch effort is way too late and probably uneffective to most people...it probably turns a lot of people off, especially men, which won't help in TX with the crossover voting.

7. When I start to I remember about all of the people who have
died in the Iraq War (and who are horribly wounded, physically and emotionally). Then I no longer feel sad for her.

21. Do you want to stop funding the American soldiers that were sent over there?
That doesn't sound too smart to me.

Let's bring them home.

25. Yes i hear Obama say he will bring them home in 16 months
Why 16 months? He continually brings up the war vote that he never took part in, says he wants them home, funds it, and then says it will take 16 months? He is not concerned about them. he is concerned about the image of just going i and saying, it's over get them home now. He IS a politician. lets "HOPE" he doesn't get many more killed while he is "CHANGING" America.

31. I've never felt bad for hilary...she's
my senator and I among many called her office and pleaded with her to vote NO on the IWR. I was in NYC on Feb 15, 2003 protesting when the whole world said NO TO WAR but hilary with steel resolve turned her back on us. She had better things in mind for herself(she thought).

Frank Rich's article, "The Audacity of Hopelessness", in the NYT, highlights these moments of hilary's perfectly.

<snip>
"It’s not just that her candidacy’s central premise — the priceless value of “experience” — was fatally poisoned from the start by her still ill-explained vote to authorize the fiasco. Senator Clinton then compounded that 2002 misjudgment by pursuing a 2008 campaign strategy that uncannily mimicked the disastrous Bush Iraq war plan. After promising a cakewalk to the nomination — “It will be me,” Mrs. Clinton told Katie Couric in November — she was routed by an insurgency."

10. Whatever she paid Mark Penn, she should demand a refund...
...Just like Kerry with Mary Beth Cahill, she has been very poorly advised by her campaign director, and it will cost her dearly.

22. This is the most hilarious article...
I have read about this campaign.

Sometimes, a moment encapsulates what is really going on. That moment
is a little microcosm of what so many are feeling and thinking.

This dancing is that moment.

It's just so...hilarious, adorable, sad and real--at the same time.

This guy totally summarizes what has happened in this campaign.

Former supporters are going to flee like crazy now that she has come unhinged. Nobody wants to be the person onstage next to the screaming lady.
