MSM rarely (ever?) shows McCain's full face anymore. |
|
I saw the thread discussing whether McCain's cancer is back so I went looking for some clear photos of McCain's "bad" side in order to try to get a handle on what it looks like, and discovered that virtually every shot only shows a partial view from his "good" side.
I'm actually pretty surprised that I couldn't find any recent MSM pics of him full face even.
If anyone was wondering about press complicity with the RW, this is as good an example as anything. They are only showing his "good" side which certainly dampens any discussion of his health - you can't discuss what you don't see. If all of his images are screened to only present him as healthy and whole by the media, then discussion about the state of his cancer becomes so much more "political" (a slam) rather than real concern about his potential stamina/longevity/health as the President.
It's a valid discussion point - especially if it looks as though the cancer is back. I can remember seeing his face after the surgery and it's pretty disfigured but at this point, I can't dredge up a recent photo to compare.

1. It might not be the MSM that's making the choice of camera angles |
|
The campaign press advance people determine what the angles are going to be and where the photographers will be positioned. It's very possible that McCain is being shown only in certain angles, but that may not be an intentional effort by the media.

2. Great point. And of course they will ensure that his "bad side" doesn't get a lot of exposure. |

3. thinking the same thing for some time now... |

there have been rumors flying around under the radar about his health. There is no quesstion that the anatomy of the area has changed dramatically over the last year and this may be due to lymphatic tissue/drainage/scar formation. It is unlikely in my opinon that it is recurrent tumor, since I'm sure he had the best surgeons and even if they accidentally left tumor in the area, they would re-enter and remove in a secondary procedure. As a dentist, I have had the opportunity to refer patients to appropriate specialists who then diagnose melanoma or parotid gland tumors (most benign, occasionally malignant, once a nightmare of a mixed tumor which was extremely rare and the cause likely environmental - but that's a story for another thread), the question is one of long-term prospects for the Senator.
If I were a betting man, I wouldn't bet that the tumor won't reoccur elsewhere in the next 24 months. Double negatives are occasionally useful.

4. They're certain he's two-faced, but they can't decide which face to show. |
