Hillary: Obama "using tactics that are right out of Karl Rove’s playbook"; like this, Hillary?
http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/02/clinton_obama_is_untested_just.html

CINCINNATI — Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton lashed out at rival Barack Obama today for using a strategy out of “Karl Rove’s playbook” by making grandiose speeches of hope while sending Ohioans what she called “false and discredited mailings” on health care and trade policy.

“Shame on you Barack Obama,” Clinton told reporters after delivering a speech at Cincinnati Technical and Community College in which she reminded voters that in 2000, an untested George W. Bush called for change--just as Obama is now--and “the American people got shafted.”

Obama's campaign quickly responded, noting that Clinton's top spokesman, Howard Wolfson, once called one Democrat comparing another Democrat to George Bush as "the worst kind of tactical political maneuvering."

Clinton, facing increased pressure to do well in Ohio and Texas, two major March 4 primary states, to continue her campaign against the front-running Obama, sought to raise in voters minds an image of a Democratic contender using Republican tactics to win.

Clinton questioned whether he was trying to undermine core Democratic principles by attacking her plans to expand health care and through a mailing on the North American Free Trade Agreement.

“Let’s have a real campaign. Enough of the speeches and the big rallies and then using tactics that are right out of Karl Rove’s playbook. This is wrong and every Democrat should be outraged because this is the kind of attack that not only undermines core Democratic values but gives aid and comfort to the very special interests and their allies in the Republican Party who are against doing what we want to for America,” she said.

Like this, Hillary?

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=4330128&page=1

The Hillary Clinton campaign pushed to reporters today stories about Barack Obama and his ties to former members of a radical domestic terrorist group -- but did not note that as president, Clinton's husband pardoned more than a dozen convicted violent radicals, including a member of the same group mentioned in the Obama stories.

"Wonder what the Republicans will do with this issue," mused Clinton spokesman Phil Singer in one e-mail to the media, containing a New York Sun article reporting a $200 contribution from William Ayers, a founding member of the Weather Underground, to Obama in 2001.

Shame on you, Hillary. Shame on you. Look in the mirror for once. You just swiftboated Obama yesterday.

What a fucking disgrace.

3. I have no problem with Hillary trying to connect Obama to this radical group.
Edited on Sat Feb-23-08 03:16 PM by NJSecularist
That's politics. That's what I would expect out of somebody whose campaign is on their death bed.

But what really irks me is how Hillary thinks she has some damn high road on attacking her opponent. She just did it yesterday. She's tried to swiftboat Obama her entire campaign.

Shame on you, Hillary.

16. She will go down in FLAMES if she goes THIS negative.
Is that what you want?

Do you want that to be her legacy?

I seriously don't want women who follow in her
footsteps to have to overcome a perception of
"ends justify the means" campaigning for a woman.

2. The Clintons are willing to do anything to keep power. It is disgusting.
They have lost all respect I ever had for them over the past two days. They are despicable people. It will be so much fun to watch them go down in flames.

Edited on Sat Feb-23-08 03:48 PM by poli speak
one direct from the HRC campaign--a piece decrying Obama's so-called position on NAFTA, when it was her husband's administration that pushed the bill through. And one from AFSME's "People" Committee, with pictures of soldiers at a war she helped authorize; one of a foreclosure sign, that she also bears responsibility, by supporting the bankruptcy bill and skirting the overall mortgage crisis by paying lip service about doing something about so-called predatory lenders, when every Congress person should known darn well that every mortgage is written to protect the lender, not the borrower. The AFSME "People" Committee should know better, too, because most average Americans, I don't care if they do have a union job, are only one paycheck or catastrophic illness away from potential financial disaster and losing their house (it doesn't just happen to "poor" people) The third pix is one of an old lady sitting (assumedly) waiting for health care. (Oh, and Clinton real stood her ground to the pharmaceutical and health insurance lobbyists the time she had a chance, too, didn't she?:sarcasm: )

The final picture of juxtaposing a Bush thumbs' up in front of a Katrina disaster pix takes the cake. Lousiana's infrastructure had been in serious jeopardy decades before the hurricane hit. Someone hoodwinked the State into selling it as an environmental crisis and trying to market it to the country and Congress that way, so as to garner collective federal action. For no elected officials, especially especially perhaps from a neighboring state, to have pointed out the economic implications of a disaster there is just beyond irresponsible to me, it's deriliction of duty.

I am just sick to death of all of this. I am sorry I have ever felt sorry for HRC for her struggles in this campaign. She is just more of the same. What a damn shame. If she thinks she's smarter than the American people, though, she is more to be pitied then condemned. What a waste.

27. I really started to sympathize with Hillary after the debate....but not any more
I had even posted to support her as a possible VP.

I guess the debate was just one more "performance" from Hillary.

I can't wait for her to get thumped in Texas and Ohio!

And, whatever nice things I said about her....forget them! I was delusional.

I was starting to feel like I'd be sad to see her drop out (which I think was exactly what she was going for by appearing to concede). But that goodwill I felt is gone now.
