Hillary Appears To Have Gone Over the Edge
Edited on Sat Feb-23-08 05:05 PM by K Gardner
No sane person could truly believe what she was screaming about today. Such faux outrage is blatantly disingenuous.

No sane person would cozy up with a "Closing Conciliation" in the debate and turn around and freak totally out, demeaning and ostracizing the man she just held her hand out to and said she was "honored to be here with". Especially after she got such rave reviews for her plagiarized statement.

No sane person would go ballistic over a flyer that has been around for months, knowing that everyone knew it had been around for months.

"Let's have a REAL campaign, ENOUGH WITH THE SPEECHES and RALLIES! SHAME ON YOU BARACK OBAMA. MEET ME IN OHIO and LETS HAVE A REAL DEBATE!"

With this, Hillary has ended her misguided and bipolar campaign on a note that will destroy whatever legacy or place she might have had left in the Democratic Party.

On top of all that, she looked like an emotionally unbalanced, hysterical human being.

Very unfortunate, indeed.

60. Ignore it, maddie.
I just put two more of them on ignore. They are really out in force today.

I have work to finish. I might come back when some of them go for their naps.

I spent a really productive morning at a workshop for constituents. Our Congressional candidate held the workshop. He wanted to get ideas about which issues are the most important to his prospective voters. That sort of thing is much more rewarding than the attack/counterattack that has come to define DU.

Do you think thoughtful debate will ever return here?

Regarding the OP, it looks like this was Sen. Clinton's "hail Mary pass." Nothing else they have tried has worked so Team Clinton figures that it is time to go for broke. This stunt would either turn things around, they figured, (it won't) or it would turn even more people against their candidate.

Your charge is not backed by the facts of the evening. He was on his game.
He held his own just fine. His learning curve is soaring. Every time he debates,
he gets better and better.

That is her problem now. In the one area that she counted on to be her advantage,
he is winning.

Your response is so ignorant. Barack Obama is one of the smartest persons to run for
president in the history of this country.

Until TX and OH primary day, expect every imaginable negative attack. This, I believe, is just the start.
If Obama is smart, he'll calmly respond, since he doesn't even need to win TX and Ohio. Further, the negative attacks may backfire.

Change you can Xerox....Shame on you Barack Obama...how low can she go? Makes the love-fest at the end of the last debate seem so contrived.

9. No, her mind was lost on that sad and fateful day afterr the '04 election
When her boy Carville told Kerry that there was no way his demanding a full audit of the vote in Ohio would help him - that there were only 150,000 outstanding ballots, not enough to overcome Bush's 138,000 lead. Kery conceded less tahn 24 hours after the election.

And when she called Edwards and she told him to "quit grandstanding" and had him back down from his promise to see that every vote counts.

She might be a "Democrat" but her belief in DEMOCRACY is nil.

This was planned, calculated, and as usual she can't deliver the goods her lobbyist advisors cook up for her without barfing on the line or overdoing it. Like that force, awkward xerox moment.

I'm now of the belief that she is just one of those front candidates who have absolutely no control over their own campaign. I mean the campaign has been a total disaster of mismanagement. Either she's an idiot or she delegates everything to others. Either way, doesn't sound like Presidential material to me (OK, well I mean sure there are Presidents who are idiots, lol, but you know what I mean).

criticism, just like she's doing now. And she was talking about something that wasn't around during Nixon's time. The odd news filtration. It would start on Drudge by midnight, get blogged on Lucianne Goldberg and the other right-wing blogs by noon, and on FoxNews by 5:00. The Clintons had to deal with something that no one had to deal with before. Major news channels weren't waiting for a second opinion, before airing the news.

There is a lot to criticize Hillary Clinton over, but it chips away at the Obama supporter's moral authority when they throw cluster bombs barbs in an indiscriminate manner.

51. It was very shrill and I am a woman - I think it's way over board. She has done some things too....
I heard a guy call in on Ed Schultz show and say he was a Democrat monitor in the Nevada caucuses and said he was amazed when the people who were there for Hillary pulled out books that were similar to the Democrat's Official Nevada version that said different things then the Official book did. He said they tried to close the doors at 11:30 am and not the 12:00 pm time and when he told them it was not allowed they said, "But our book says so" and he told them that is not the "official" book of the Democrat Party of Nevada!

Also - I heard of some very negative phone calls made in Wisconsin before the Primary that were questionable by the Hillary Campaign.

It is not a time to become an old-fashioned campaigner who will do anything to win! I hope she will tone it down for her own legacy!

I think most unbiased followers of this campaign are going to start asking questions as to what her real motivations are for continuing on this way. This type of behavior is typical of most people staring out at the abyss, panic sets in, and you just rattle off as many shots as you can, praying that something works.

It must be a kid thing. My three are grown now, and when they want to infuriate me, they tell me, "Calm down, Mom."
"Calm down," when all I am doing is pointing out, in a reasonable, perfectly calm and quiet tone, that they are wrong about something. If I say they are wrong, I am over the edge and need to calm down. Doesn't matter that I'm not screaming, not "over the edge," and have perfect control of what I am saying - if I say they might like to reconsider their actions or what they said, I need to calm down. Good grief.

Just when we thought she was going to accept defeat gracefully and give us something on which to build, she decided to lead her suicide charge. Predictably, it reignited her troops here, and they joined the Banzai Charge.

As in WWII, when American troops faced such suicide charges, they predictably fired back.

I am disappointed that Hillary has chosen to go out so badly, and take her loyal troops down this destructive path. She hasn't shown leadership, but desperate ambition bitterly ending.

Your egregious use of those words against another female, particularly "hysterical," to describe behavior that might arguably have been disproportionately angry or disingenuous or cunningly timed or whatever other criticisms you care to lob (possibly Clinton throwing down the gauntlet by whatever means necessary for reasons that have not yet been revealed) is what is MOST unfortunate.

As for this flyer, "everyone" did not know about it; our Democratic, super-voting household apparently has the wrong demographics for Obama to have bothered. I think one item came in the mail addressed to my young daughter that she sent straight into the recycling bin. Didn't Clinton herself allude to having already expressed disapproval or objection about it or its contents to the Obama camp, yet they continue to distribute it? So how is the outrage over a continuing objectionable action false?

Think about your words the next time Obama raises his voice in righteous indignation towards Clinton, and by all means, come back and insult him here for acting that way. I'll be waiting; but I won't hold my breath.

And followed with the Obama "rebuttal" for good measure, in which he said the flyer had been around for days or weeks, not "months." Disingenuous, indeed.

Well, folks, I guess some were prematurely readying for the group hugs when it was thought that Clinton's remarks were the beginnings of a concession speech? And now that it's clear they're not that just yet....?

Yes, I do hear a hint of a gauntlet being thrown down by Clinton. Maybe she's genuinely "gone over the edge" of taking the higher road on camera over something VERY recent, like hearing the revised short-term predictions from HIS camp?

What Obama does NOT want to do is debate her one-on-one in a more informal, think-on-your-feet setting than the last. She will wipe the floor with him. This is where it most obvious and undeniable that he is outclassed (without think-tank entourage and scripted support).

I still fail to see exactly what the "stridency" or "hysterics" is here, much less, insanity. Clinton is behaving in a strong, forceful, even aggressive manner that would have her automatically swamped with laurels and accolades about her personal power, drive and courage IF SHE WERE A MAN. And with that totally disgusting thought in my head, I'm bidding this certifiably sexist swamp of a thread goodnight.

No sane person could truly believe what she was screaming about today. Such faux outrage is blatantly disingenuous.

4738043, Researched the Obama Ohio mailer and found that

Some Ohio residents received the first mailer on 2/13 and the second on 2/15.

That is backed up by this: The mailers have been in circulation in Ohio for several days.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,332089,00.html

The Clinton campaign had seen the mailers in other states, had already discredited them, and believed they were no longer being used. That is why Hillary used the word "continuing" in her statement today when someone in the crowd showed her that they were being sent out in Ohio.

"I have to express my deep disappointment that he is continuing to send false and discredited mailings with information that is not true to the voters of Ohio. He says one thing in speeches, and then he turns around and does this."

Obama talks all the time of the "politics of old", "the politics of destruction", and how he wants to rise above that and have "substantive" debate. If that is so, why is he continuing to send out these mailers. And if this race is already over as his supporters apparently believe, perhaps they should explain to people why Obama continues attacking Hillary with these mailers.

145. What she's doing is making Hail Mary passes...
Just like in the closing seconds of the Superbowl.

Clinton is running out of options. Her campaign's running out of money, she can no longer afford enough ad buys and such to keep up with Obama. She's behind in delegates, the polling numbers are trending the wrong way for her at a tremendous pace. She's losing, and normal tactics to get things under control aren't working.

So she's down to going in front of the media and saying "I'm shocked! SHOCKED! to see Obama sending out flyers like this!"
