Poll question: Did Hillary's Attack Today Help Her?
Just to get an idea of what people think of this.

3. She's such a freaking drama queen but it's all a big freaking act.

Can't stand the woman & look forward to the day she and Bill get divorced and leave us the hell alone.

5. It hardly matters.
This thing is over but for the shouting. Anyway, Hillary has to make some kind of effort--she's got people counting on her.

27. All you Hillary supporters...she's doing this for you.
Edited on Sat Feb-23-08 04:52 PM by dkf
I do think that at the last debate she personally realized what an uphill battle she was in.

That was Hillary being real and authentic.

But after she was done, she realized all the people in her campaign and all her supporters need her to fight it out to the last dog dies and went back into "fighting Hillary" mode.

She's got backbone I will say that for her. But I have never connected with her, never felt like I got a sense of her as a human being. And, more importantly, I haven't got a vibe from her that she had a generosity of spirit, like I do from Obama. Even when Obama shook her hand after her last bit at the debate, I saw the empathy that he felt for her.

She spent too many years in the spotlight. It killed all the spontaneity and realness in her. If she wants to win the Presidency, she needs to get it back...

28. Please. She's not going to win.
This thing is over; she's just making a good show of campaigning at this point.

Frankly, I have no problem with her pointing out how cheezy that Obama direct mailer is. It's a fair point.

32. The consistently wrong poll results of anything Clinton are proof of how willing people are to lie
through their teeth at the drop of a button.

The blatantly incorrect results of any poll about Hillary or Bill only reinforces how quickly most people on DU don't hesitate to lie their asses off. Integrity is not a virtue here, that is for sure.

24. That's the only thing that I think can stick...
...but I'm sure somewhere she said that NAFTA has been good for America, so at least Obama will be able to prove that's how she feels (or felt), even if the quote was misaccurate.

I guess she hasn't figured that out yet. She was "honored" to be with Obama and now she's "shame on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" lol.

20. No, because she's been going through campaign strategies the way Condi goes through shoes.
Edited on Sat Feb-23-08 05:03 PM by rocknation
Had she been negative right out of the gate, this would have seemed logical if a little overdue. Credible or not, it comes across as yet another attempt to quickly make up ground--and, very unfortunately, another one of her "personalties." Better she should talk about why people SHOULD vote for her rather then why they shouldn't vote for Obama.

That's what automatically sucks any credibility out of it.

I always thought she was smart, but watching her try the same failing tactics over and over hints that maybe I was wrong about that.

Hillary Clinton Pretends She Never Praised NAFTA

Hillary Clinton has made statements unequivocally trumpeting NAFTA as the greatest thing since sliced bread. The Buffalo News reports that back in 1998, Clinton attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and thanked praised corporations for mounting "a very effective business effort in the U.S. on behalf of NAFTA." Yes, you read that right: She traveled to Davos to thank corporate interests for their campaign ramming NAFTA through Congress.

On November 1, 1996, United Press International reported that on a trip to Brownsville, Texas, Clinton "touted the president's support for the North American Free Trade Agreement, saying it would reap widespread benefits in the region."

The Associated Press followed up the next day noting that Hillary Clinton touted the fact that "the president would continue to support economic growth in South Texas through initiatives such as the North American Free Trade Agreement."

uck! I saw a bumper sticker today that said "Life's a bitch, don't elect one"

I thought that very mean and sexist, but ohhhhhh, I bet they sell now.

What a shame.

her national--and local--attention. She can't buy ad spots like Sen Obama can, so this coverage puts her in front of the American people. And she thinks she gains by making him look dirty.
