"Since when do Democrats attack one another on universal health care?'" |
|
"Well, since she started saying that I’m against universal health care, that’s when it started," he answered. "Something that she repeats every single day." Obama responds in Akron : http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0208/Obama_responds_and_hits_Clintons_experience.html

1. Maybe if she actually proposed "Universal Health Care" |
|
it would strike a chord and I would actually listen. Obama doesn't propose it either, but at least he gives lipservice to the actual problem. The problem isn't that people are uninsured, the problem is the whole private healthcare/insurance system is a racket. The first goal should be bring costs down, not making people pay a ransom to Blue Cross so they can live.

2. "lawyer" should know Hill's is "universal" and O's isn't and will therefore cost more |
|
so as to cover the freeloaders who game the system.
The goal of getting costs down is in each's plan - but is a con if you expect a cut in expenses thats more than a one years normal increase in health costs (when those ideas are implemented)/
The insurance companies profits must go up 15% each year to keep the stock up so the premium and thus the cost of health care will likewise increase for no good reason beyond the fact that insurance companies that should be used as they are now in Medicare - as administrative services only clerk providers - are allowed to claim a "risk" and demand a "risk premium" that increases every year.
Only Hillary and Edward's Medicare like option will be a start on changing this situation - and while Obama has the same in his plan, he also has us on notice that he will give it away so as to get some GOP LOVE and thereby "change the atmosphere" in DC.
I suggest that what she is saying might strike a chord if you tune out the media noise so that you can get a better listen

Because only an insurance guy would say the problem with healthcare in this country is "freeloaders who game the system". I've got news for you chief, the problem is the system.

I am so sick to death of this phony debate. If it were Dennis Kucinich complaining that Obama's plan wasn't universal, that would be different. But Hillary's plan is not universal either, and this is a phony argument.

7. Minor bone pick....It is "Hear, hear!", not "Here here!" The latter is for calling a |

for National Health Care by the voters. It's another...well "we will give you crumbs policy". Isn't my idea great? No I say.
Public Citizen's Health Letter, February,2008 (under "outrage of the month" section) says, the "drug industry spends almost twice as much on promotion of drugs as on research". It's billions.
"That amounts to an average expenditure of $61,000 per physician in a promotion year". Heck the doctor could give his patients free drugs for that amount.
That is no surprise to me since we tax payers usually pay for NIH federal grants to develop new drugs. The foreign countries who manufacture the drugs which we developed don't pay us back either.
It's a big ripoff. Drugs should be cheaper here since we pay for their development..CONGRESS!!! It's obvious that the drug corporations are paying for their vote regarding drugs for Americans.
